Job Fight: Immigrants vs. Locals

Discussion in 'Economics' started by ASusilovic, May 24, 2009.

  1. You have no idea what "poor" is until you go to India...as for the middle class in India, approximately 700 million....the reason they are so highly educated, by family "persuasion", is that they too will become "poor" if they are not educated.

They know their route out of the country is their education....those working there with B.A. Eng. etc are those you speak to (service calls) earning approximately $7 per hour...

They are veddy, veddy grateful for the work, Sabi:p

  3. education killed religion. how can you expect an educated kid in 2009 who actually looks at the evidence to believe in a talking snake.

  4. Yeah, with every country exploiting their particular competitive advantage to the betterment of all. Unfortunately, you are dealing with humans, religions, ethnic hatred, grudges, and worst of all non-linear events.

Why do people believe that having faith in a lie is better than having no faith at all.

  7. Great post.

Put yourself in the position of Tyson Foods. Whom would you rather hire? Someone who is grateful for the oportunity or someone who is bitching before they even get handed an application?

Farther back in the line, marked by orange tape and monitored by police, locals like David Curtis seethed. "This is the worst job I have ever applied for," said the 31-year-old welder, who had already failed to find work at a convenience store, a pen factory and a Pizza Hut. Eyeing those ahead of him, he added: "I'm very annoyed foreigners are taking jobs that Americans need."

Unless this guy has an ancestor somewhere down the line named 'Tonto' or 'Running Bear' he's from somewhere else too.

It's amusing when the descendants of immigrants complain about immigration - hey, go back to Europe and leave the country to the guys on the reservations!
