If its for sale, it doesn't work. There is nothing you can read in the order book that, AI can't. neural network have been used for decades now to take advantage of whatever pattern they can find. The Order book won't give you anymore edge in trading then any basic technical indi, like RSI or MA
I think the time and sales data (actual trades) are useful, but I find little use in looking at the order book. Reason why is because whenever I place a small options order, within seconds I'll have hundreds of times more size leaning on my order. So it's really hard to tell how much liquidity is actually at a given level until price trades through it.
