    TIKITRADER,

Thanks for this thread and the annotated charts.

My take on the big picture: Accelerated upward sloping channel from early ’95 until FTT in Oct ’07, downward sloping channel still forming—Pt 1 Oct ’07, Pt 2 March ’09, Pt 3 undetermined as of now and anticipated region shown on chart

    Tiki,

    Thanks for the thread.

Here is my hack at the monthly ES. Note that I removed the overnight gap. It does not change the picture much but brings up some points to ponder. I am wondering if the overnight gaps during the month need to removed as well.

As far as being abolutely certain, I think a lot of people miss the basics like "Clean Page 1". My effort at interpreting it says that the only thing that is certain breaking the left trend line or higher peak volume. They promise another non-dom and dom. Additional, if you break what you thought was an FTT then you aslo have continuation. Change is the absence of these on all fractals. After the FTT you are waiting for "Clean Page 4" to reverse until continuation signals develop in the firection of the new trend.

Also note that I am studying the effects of the OHLC on volume attribution. That is the additional volume pane at the bottom. I am not intending to "invent" merely exploring my understanding of things.

  4. river and MKTr,

Thanks for the detailed posts and well annotated charts.
Excellent analysis and very cool of you both to share your knowledge of the method and skills.

It is amazing how each can have an individual view of market action all following the same method.
I noticed this many times through the years, and very often everyone wound up in the same place eventually.

Small thoughts added to a chart can have such an impact on how we annotate and see the market.
Back here to the original annotated style with a few thoughts added.

Come on Jack, get in here and get real down and dirty.

Credit to Tums for his public indicator applied here
Also to Ezzy for an old but good public Volume indicator.

  6. Ahhhhhhh ! Exactly the point of the thread.
It is the individual user interpretation of the method that can yield different results.

Up to the user of the method to determine if they apply the price volume relationship as they see it , or want to see it, where they want to place trendlines, and start finish points.
That is not to say someone cannot be profitable. I am not talking P$L here.
How a trader manages their positions is another topic.

    We are talking the method.
There are NO RULES , That is understood. It is guidelines to keep context of the market action.
One simple change in annotations can change the users view of the context of the market action.

Jack, can you rule this chart out as not even a possibility ? Could the slightest possibility of a b2b be in the works ???

Does the pv relation work here, looks like it does. ES chart similar to the DJI recently posted.

After all, it is nothing more than another way someone may interpret the market.

This is jh method annotated charts thread. Post the way you see it. If someone comes along with information that is beneficial, put it in your toolbox and continue working
    :)

***Please note previous chart posted by myself has a different scenario through the change in trendlines.

  9. Wide Tailz

    Wide Tailz

This rule is preached in tech analysis textbooks and by Prechter alike.....

    What does it mean?

It sure didn't help during the glorious bull market, immediately after the flash crash, when Prechter, Zerohedge, and all bears were harping on it.....
