"JEWS KILLED THE LORD JESUS"

Discussion in 'Religion and Spirituality' started by BernardRichards, Oct 30, 2008.

  1. Of course, while tlhe bible likes slavery, murder and rape are also popular:

    (Deuteronomy 20:10-14)
As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace. If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor. But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town. When the LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town. But you may keep for yourselves all the women, children, livestock, and other plunder. You may enjoy the spoils of your enemies that the LORD your God has given you.

    (Deuteronomy 22:23-24 NAB)
If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife.

You should not let a sorceress live. (Exodus 22:17 NAB)

"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)

If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT)

That last one could do some good actually.

  2. of course, the bible is always right as it seems to be political in taking all sides of an issue:

. God is satisfied with his works
    Gen 1:31
God is dissatisfied with his works.
    Gen 6:6

    2. God dwells in chosen temples
    2 Chron 7:12,16
    God dwells not in temples
    Acts 7:48
    3. God dwells in light
    Tim 6:16
    God dwells in darkness
    1 Kings 8:12/ Ps 18:11/ Ps 97:2
    4. God is seen and heard
    Ex 33:23/ Ex 33:11/ Gen 3:9,10/ Gen 32:30/ Is 6:1/
    Ex 24:9-11
God is invisible and cannot be heard
    John 1:18/ John 5:37/ Ex 33:20/ 1 Tim 6:16

  4. Skinheads are Abrahamics too, numbnuts. It's an umbrella term for all religions supposedly descended from Abraham--mainly Christianity, Judaism, Islam.

  5. Loderunner,

actually, I think there is something of a division between the skinheads and neo-nazis. There are the Christian ones and then the are the heathen ones - and they probably quarrel a lot - perhaps even with those who are not religious.

Racism goes very easily with neo-conservativism, fascism and Abrahamic religion - along with other supremacist thinking and superiority complexes.

  6. Yep. Check out the Gospel of Judas... according to it, Judas "betrayed" Jesus on Jesus's own order. In the first few hundred years of Christianity there were many different gospels, many different perspectives on who Jesus was, what happened and why. In the end, as always, history is written by the victors. Peter was supposedly the first pope, and his followers (the founders of the Catholic church) did their best to exterminate all other interpretations. Funny how the Protestants disavow the authority of the Pope, yet they insist on using the same version of events created by the Catholic church (or precursor to the Catholic church, whatever)...

  7. Here are some of those other mythical god-men that Jesus, the Christian Messiah, apparently shares roots with. Does anything about these Gods that predate the Christian God sound familiar?
    Zoroaster/Zarathustra

--Zoroaster was born of a virgin and “immaculate conception by a ray of divine reason.”
--He was baptized in a river.
--In his youth he astounded wise men with his wisdom.
--He was tempted in the wilderness by the devil.
--He began his ministry at age 30.
--Zoroaster baptized with water, fire and “holy wind.”
--He cast out demons and restored the sight to a blind man.
--He taught about heaven and hell, and revealed mysteries, including resurrection, judgment, salvation and the apocalypse.
--He had a sacred cup or grail.
    --He was slain.
    --His religion had a eucharist.
--He was the “Word made flesh.”
Zoroaster’s followers expected a “second coming” in the virgin-born Saoshynt or Savior, who is to come in 2341 CE and begin his ministry at age 30, ushering in a golden age.

    Mithra of Persia

--Mithra was born of a virgin on December 25 in a cave, and his birth was attended by shepherds bearing gifts.
--He was considered a great traveling teacher and master.
--He had 12 companions or disciples.
    --Mithra’s followers were promised immortality.
    --He performed miracles.
--As the “great bull of the Sun,” Mithra sacrificed himself for world peace.
--He was buried in atomb and after three days rose again.
--His resurrection was celebrated every year.
--He was called “the Good Shepherd” and identified with both the Lamb and the Lion.
--He was considered the “Way, the Truth and the Light,” and the “Logos,” [Word] “Redeemer,” “Savior” and “Messiah.”
--His sacred day was Sunday, the “Lord’s Day,” hundreds of years before the appearance of Christ.
--Mithra had his principal festival on what was later to become Easter.
--His religion had a eucharist or “Lord’s Supper,” at which Mithra said, “He who shall nto eat of my body nor drink of my blood so that he may be one with me and I with him, shall not be saved.”
--“His annual sacrifice is the Passover of the Magi, a symbolical atonement of pledge of moral and physical regeneration.”
Virtually all of the elements of the Catholic ritual, from miter to wafer to altar to doxology, are directly taken from earlier Pagan mystery religions.

    Attis of Phrygia

--Attis was born on December 25 of the Virgin Nana.
--He was considered the savior who was slain for the salvation of mankind.
--His body as bread was eaten by his worshippers
--His priests were “eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven.”
--He was both the Divine Son and the Father.
--On “Black Friday,” he was crucified on a tree, from which his holy blood ran down to redeem the earth.

    Dionysus/Bacchus

Dionysus or Bacchus is thought of as being Greek, but he is a remake of the Egyptian god Osiris, whose cult extended throughout a large part of the ancient world for thousands of years. Dionysus’s religion was well-developed in Thrace, northeast of Greece, and Phrygia, which became Galatia, where Attis also later reigned. Although a Dionysus is best remembered for the rowdy celebrations in his name, which was Latinized as Bacchus, he had many other functions and contributed several aspects to the Jesus character:

--Dionysus was born of a virgin on December 25 and, as the Holy Child, was placed in a manger.
--He was a traveling teacher who performed miracles.
--He “rode in a triumphal procession on an a##.”
--He was a sacred king killed and eaten in an eucharistic ritual for fecundity and purification.
--Dionysus rose from the dead on March 25.
--He was the God of the Vine, and turned water into wine.
--He was called “King of Kings” and “God of Gods.”
--He was considered the “Only Begotten Son,” Savior,” “Redeemer,” “Sin Bearer,” Anointed One,” and the “Alpha and Omega.”
--He was identified with the Ram or Lamb.
--His sacrificial title of “Dendrites” or “Young Man of the Tree” intimates he was hung on a tree or crucified.

  8. Excellent list, vhehn, but you forgot John the Baptist.

He was really just Jesus 1.0 . Whomever wrote the mythological story of Jesus just took the story of John (which itself was drawn from the myths you mention) and cranked the volume up to 11.

There's actually a religion (whose name temporarily escapes me) that worships John as the true messiah.

  9. Mr. Skinhead moron, SKINHEADS are PAGANS.

The "Hitler Youth" sang this song:

We are the joyous Hitler Youth,
We have no need for Christian virtue.
    Our leader is our savior;
    The pope and rabbi shall
be gone. We shall be pagans once again.

  10. BernardRichards,

skinheads and neo-nazis can be Christians as well. This is especially true for those in the US, where everyone seemingly are easily fundamentalist Christians. I remember seeing some US based neo-nazi site when googling one day, where they were quarreling between atheists, heathens and Christians -- but all fascists. They had different forum sections for those who belonged to the different factions - it was a very interesting phenomenon. IIRC it was when I was googling for free-thinkers - which in the US started a "church of freethinkers" - the worst oxymoron ever.

    Vhehn and Loderunner,

check out www.livius.org for non-biased historical documents and writings from ancient times. The site is massive, and filled with all kinds of ancient texts.

There were hundreds of different messiahs at the time, and they were jockeying for position. The Jewish tribes were fighting between themselves and against the external enemies.
