exactly, shoeshine---- i am not sure if the creator is involved in the affairs of men. i have just not seen any evidence of this, outside of personal claims--despite looking for same in my past. best, surfer
And by the way, this was NOT a televangelist! This was a "no name" individual who came in from the third world, but he was the "real deal"...
OK, let's try to get some leverage on this question with reason: let's begin with a simple reasonable Q: IAL, we are animals scratching and clawing on a miniscule insignificant planet, situated in an insignificant solar system, in an isig' galaxy of which there are infinite numbers in an infinite universe. of what importance could we possibly be to an omnipotent perfect being??
Thx - I appreciate so much the way you word things...I can respect someone looking and coming to a different conclusion than me. It's just hard for me to handle what I'll call the "extremes"....
EVIDENCE??! Why does MS need evidence for his belief here, but not for his belief in the even grander scheme of a creator?? See, this is just where you believers begin to screw up.
thanks ! i am not saying it doesn't happen, just that i have not seen or heard any credible evidence of same other than claims like above. it is my contention that god or particularly satan would be happy to prove themselves to scoffers like randi. if i did see an event like you describe, i would not automatically seek a supernatural cause and be thinking trickery or simply mind power if no trickery was involved. time after time, these healers have been exposed as charlatans. best, surfer
the creation speaks for the creator. the creation is sufficient evidence of a creator. what don't you understand ? aren't you a satanist ? surfer
What?? Whether you believe in God or not, you have to recognize that the human brain is anything but insignificant. Inside our heads is a 5 Cray supercomputer that is probably the holographic, parallel-processing 8th wonder of the world. Imo one can never call what is in between our ears insignificant. But there is only one reason that I know of in the Bible: love by free choice. I know you're going to criticize this answer as cheesy, but I believe it to be the truth. God simply wants to build up a billion plus people from every nation on the earth that love him and each other by free choice. God could make a million robots that "love" Him, but that is not the same as beings that face temptation and yet choose to love Him anyway. Let me ask this: Is there a bigger rush on the planet for a guy to have a female think he is #1 and to choose him as #1 even though there are hundreds of other guys to choose from? I don't think so anyway...
It's true we are on opposite ends of the spectrun, but you will find that I rarely if ever enter a thread with my views unless the posters are slamming God and saying there is no evidence whatsoever. Then I will stick up for my beliefs and for the idea that one can be JudeoChristian and not be irrational...
