Politics are about how to administer the power of the state, and subject to different points of view on what is the best way to draw that power into the fabric of our lives. Some people look at the sharp head of the pencil and form opinions, others look at the pink butt for theirs. A moderate would know that both the point and the eraser are necessary components in our mistake ridden human behaviors. I believe in moderation in most all things, even administration of power by the state. If my "left" appears so because of your "right" it may just be a ploy to meet in the center.
