The anachronistic title al-`Aziz given to Potiphar [with special gratitude to Islamic Awareness for making such a big deal about a minor point on a defunct web page, and forcing the issue into public attention.] ________________________________________ The Qur'an in Contradiction to the Earlier Revelations: Ultimately, the strongest, most serious problem of the Qur'an is that it affirms the scriptures of the Jews and the Christians as authentic and true revelation from God (cf. what the Qur'an says about the Bible), while radically denying central aspects of their message, e.g. the core themes of sacrifice and atonement in the Torah, the crucifixion of Jesus, the deity of Jesus and even the mere messianic title "Son of God" for Jesus, the very nature of God, the fall and the sinfulness of man (*, *), necessity and means of salvation, etc. For this reason Muslims had to invent the unwarranted theory of corruption of the earlier scriptures, even against the clear testimony of the Qur'an itself. TZ: In third from latest post, you wrote: "There are many reasons of much more substantial nature why we do not believe the Qur'an to be from the one true God." What we want is a proof, not a belief. So instance I gave you the example in Quran where it says that the Pharaoh will be preserved, and will be found. That is an undisputable evidence. There is no room for belief and subjective statements. The Pharaoh was found, preserved in the sea. Do you know of any dead man who is found in the sea preserved for several 1000 years? I told you to give JUST ONE EXAMPLE. Which example do you want to discuss from your list? Be precise. No room for beliefs, we want to test with cold/hard facts. We then can have knowledgeable people in Quran and in science assess your charge against the Quran. I lookforward to your challenge, but my estimate of your chances of success are close to ZERO. That book (Quran) is mightly done, but if you succeed to break it with factual evidence (no opinions) then I will listen to wha you have to say.
Umm, I gave the link, which you glossed over. Now I broke out a huge number. Do you suppose 100-200+ errors do not hurt the Qu'ran but ONE example does? Which planet do you live on? You need to stop defending it because you believe in it, and based on the fact that the Qu'ran is a rather poor cousin.
That's dazzling. So the Quran shills for Allah. Say's Allah makes the world. If Allah makes the world, then Allah can make a book that shills for Allah. Impressive. But what if Allah is just an idol that makes the world? And what if the idol exists only as it is believed? If I was Allah, I'd be making a whole lotta books that support me and my agenda. Here's a book that is ten times more baffling, and twenty times more dazzling than the Quran. So Muhammad flew on a horse through the seven heavens, eh? Well, JJ Hurtak was taken all the way to the top, first by Enoch in a Merkaba vehicle, and then by Metatron the rest of the way! And all the science totally blows the Quran out of the water!! Go ahead and try to prove any of the science wrong in the "Keys of Enoch". You won't be able to do it!!! So Keys of Enoch wins hands down and you should just surrender now. Or, you could admit that you've been duped by an idol that's way smarter than you that needs only your belief for it to survive. You don't stand a chance with this thing, so may as well just give it up! There will always be an idol that's smarter than you that needs your belief to survive and will grab you by the nuts to get it. Christ! P.S. - Why can't you people keep "the universe" in your homes and churches and mosques?
How come that a man of your intelligence/honesty either did not understand or is misrepresenting what I wrote? What I wrote is that statements in the Quran that can be tested with scientific facts, and that I know of, are correct (statements of type that are either wrong or right, such as the case of the Pharaoh). I did not write that every statement has been verified or can be verified. There are thousands of statements in the Quran. If let us say we can find 30 of them which are verifiable by science, and have a black/white type of answer, then the probability that the book was written by humans is only (0.5)^30, as a human making a ramdon selection of outcome will have a 50% shot to be correct on one instance, and only (0.5)^30 chance to be right on 30 instance. (1/2)^30 is less than 1 chance out of 1 TRILLION! In addition if one cannot find a statement that is wrong with scientific evidence, what charge does one have against the Quran other than not all staements have been verified?
Here is another example of black/white tests in the Quran that just came to mind. In Arabic there is female and male form in the VERB even for animals/insects/etc. Let us take the case of bees that go out and work , because they are discussed in the Quran. I think the Quran refer to them in female form (implied from the verb). Could someone with arabic expertise check this? Now what does science say about working bees. Are the bees male or female? In my head bees are males. My recollection is that in the Quran they are females. Do we know the sex of the bees, and if yes when did we know their sex? If their sex was know at time when Quran came, then this can be used as an example to test the Quran. If however this knowledge known only afterwards (which is likely as biology was know advanced back then) then the Quran made the correct assignment of sex to bees (a chance of 1 out of 2).
I'm saying your logic is looping. Allah makes the world. So Allah makes science. So Allah writes a book using humans as tools. And the book shills for Allah. Allah displays his dazzling "knowledge" of science. The net effect is that a whole lotta humans believe in Allah. I'm saying that grabbing your attention is Allah's agenda. If it can get your belief, it can get you. If it can keep you, it can keep its own pseudo-existence going. An idol needs belief to survive like humans need blood. If you are not willing to look beyond Allah, then you will be captivated by Allah, and held as a shill for Allah...an idol. Allah keeps saying over and over that besides Allah, there is no other. Is it not apparent that Allah is very concerned about cornering your attention upon itself? That is what an idol must do to survive. I say look beyond Allah to All That Is, and not to what mocks All That Is. If you focus your attention on Allah, you will not ever discover that you are All That Is, and you are the maker of Allah the Arab idol. Such idols are not made with human hands. They are made in a powerful mind, which you will never know is yours so long as you bow down to Allah the idol. If you bow down, you will be taken hostage for as long as you bow down. And that could be thousands of years over hundreds of incarnations as Allah images. I also noted that the YHWH idol blows the Allah idol away in terms of impressive scientific displays of dazzling "knowledge". Simply notice the pattern repeating...becoming more sophisticated. Christ!
You have missed completely the point. The question is about the Quran, and not about God (BTW Allah is just the word God in arabic. So, Allah is a word not an entity as you seem to have it conceived in your head). The question is how to determine whether the Quran (or any book, or theory) passes the test of credibility. Do not confuse this with correctness? The book is like a witness. You need to make sure he does not lie and that he said the truth on a large set of questions. If the book passes this test, then you may listen to the person/book, under the continuous awarness that at any time a statement might be wrong because you do not know. But if the book/person is a proven liar, on black/white questions, then how could one use it as a basis to address other questions where only faith is used in following it? If the book contains incorrect questions, then it should be considered reading at your own risk, and that the risk is very high.
No, I've got the point. The Quran is a shill for Allah, which is just a word that means gOd, which claims that besides itself, there are no other gOds. This diverts your attention from GoD, besides which there is no other. So Allah must be an imposter "gOd" who needs shills for its support. Allah claims to make the world. But the world does not exist. So Allah is lying through his scientific teeth. Allah establishes a book to be scientifically correct. So what? The world of Allah does not exist! Science is a seduction! Allah's science seduces senses with salacious sweets to secure your subjective servitude to insane stories. Beware! Swallow the sweet and follow defeat!! Allah is like a mad scientist, attempting to replace Reality for all time with it's own little world which it claims is the only world, and none other besides. It calls it's world "the universe" as if to say it is the entirety of All That Is. Allah says that it's world is "all-that-is" because it is competing with All That Is for the title "Reality", and needs your vote to keep the imposter scam going.!!! The world does not exist...so all of the science that supports it is moot. All the science that supports a world-maker is moot. The world is a false witness against Reality. The world's self-shilling science is a false witness. That's what's *wrong* with the Quran! Christ! PS - Why can't you people keep "the universe" in your homes, churches, synagogues and mosques?
