talk about poise, not only are you on the trading but you might actually be happy, too. you short that spike or saw it as a potential breakout?
I'm undecided on what that spike means so far. ES needs to get convincingly over 1097.50 for me to consider it breaking out and maybe going back to the morning highs. Ever since about 11am we've carved out a trading range between 1091 and 1097.50.
OK, right, kinda vague, "you short that spike?" as if there were just one today and i meant the beginning of a potential breakout, which may keep someone from entry? i think i am in yahoo IM mode with you. i am just looking for 10 to 20 cent moves right now, which seems like that is all i can hope for since 11, as you said, a tight range. let's see if we can get some good end of day volume/volatility going.
Done for the day here and a tough one at that. Looking back over my trades for the day I saw a couple of mistakes but really I followed my rules and just got shaken out of my trades. No excuses but sometimes there are just days like these where nothing seems to work very well. The only thing to do is keep on working away and come back tomorrow to start fresh!
done for the day, good bouncing words and trades with you, man. good luck trading, you definitely seem to have a good read on the markets. sure, not ALWAYS profitable but we are all about consistency or failing that, larger gains than losses
Same to you! Yes I'm very happy to have this day over with, it's definitely the worst results that I've had in some time. I don't know if it had to do with the holiday or if it was just the law of averages that was bound to catch up with me eventually. Anyway, as traders we just need to stick to our system and if the sample size is large enough at the end of the month/year then everything should even out.
No trades for me here in the first half hour, although I did try to short ES on that last pop but it moved down too quickly to get my 1100.75 offer filled. The first half hour is feast or famine for me usually. I tend to need to see things play out a bit before I'm very active in the market.
