Ex-CNN chief Jeff Zucker was ousted to bolster AT&T’s case against Chris Cuomo: sources

Cuomo’s lawyers argued AT&T was involved in selective enforcement, according to the sources. Zucker — who violated company policy by dating a colleague without disclosing it — was able to hold onto his cushy job, but Cuomo had gotten the boot for helping his brother, now-former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, navigate sexual harassment claims.

So... let's see... since Chris Cuomo was shoved out -- two CNN staffers were unmasked and fired as child molesters. Several staff members were disciplined or let go for sexual harassment. And now Zucker has been shown the door. It's beginning to look like Chris Cuomo is spreading all the dirt he knew about and is burning CNN down as he leaves. Or just hijacking them for a large exit payment.

Chris Cuomo accused of ‘trying to burn down’ CNN after revelations led to president Jeff Zucker quitting

  7. I think because he was the higher executive position and the man, the burden was put on him to report and reveal as he was in an inappropriate relationship with someone he supervises. That is where all the potential litigation comes from but I still think as you say she had some obligation as well and got off with no punishment for banging her boss...

  10. Yep, there are general legal principles that apply but those get supplemented by a company's own policies on such matters, if there are such established policies.

Apparently there are and she -at least for now in some way- acknowledges that he had obligations here as well.

Such reporting policies are not just all about whether the woman was abused or victimized. It is also about the opposite: Is the woman receiving preferential treatment - similar to the factors that go with nepotism- such as in job assignments, promotions etc- just because she is porking the big guy. She is a senior manager herself and should be held to account. Oh, and how did she get promoted to that job and did she have a leg up (little pun there) over some of the other female employees. Not sure she can just walk away from this and say "hey, everything be cool because I was not abused and actually I been pretty happy."

Alright, nuff. Just had that little add-in.

The announcement stunned the media world and network staffers on Wednesday. According to CNN, Mr Zucker had a relationship with the company’s chief marketing officer, Allison Gollust. Ms Gollust acknowledged in her own statement that she, like Mr Zucker, should have disclosed the relationship to company human resources staffers. Instead, it was revealed in the course of an investigation into Chris Cuomo.
