I need Java based charting software for a Unix machine.

I don't mind paying a little money but I want to make sure it is the best java charting software before I invest in it.

    Thanks for the help.

  2. I use thinkorswim for charting, it's a Java application and runs on pretty much anything although it's only officially supported on OS X and Windows. The free paper trading account has a 20 minute feed delay which may be adequate for your purposes, if not you can do what I did and move $5k worth of your low-risk portfolio into TOS to satisfy their account minimum.

I don't know how good it is, but it is Java based. I think you can get it for free for EOD data which would give you an opportunity to evaluate.
