Slipped a little today - reign it back in

Time.., and your actions from here forward - will be the real tell

Both these unnecessary..., and frankly - a useless waste of our time & energy

Knuckle down (nut up in my world) - fix it..., don't repeat..., move on

"Difficult" is a bit of an understatement. Although there were quite a few trades that would've worked if I applied my entry/management rules to basic signals in isolation, most of them were not full setups; in other words, the price action environment was confusing and a case could be made for long/short via the same signal. At one point, the price at which my plan told me to go both long and short was exactly the same for quite a while, LOL!

JAS, days like this you can truly understand how "no trade" is a valid trade

  3. Thanks ND I appreciate hearing that. I don't recall seeing many days that PA stays poor entire session. I'm reviewing now and do see too many mistakes I made today. Sometimes I think I still have a hard time believing that if I stick with plan and wait for clear set ups I can do well every day. No need to force trades.

  4. OK I'm back.

Same PA conditions as yesterday to start the session. I was properly patient and all trades valid today. First two trades were losses but I wasn't concerned because they were valid and solid set ups. Next two trades worked. Only 4 trades compared to yesterday 10

I had a conversation with myself this morning that trading is my job (or I would like it to be). I realized that although I've said that before I haven't really internalized it. My job doesn't require me to over analyze supply/demand. That's built into the set ups I trade. I don't need to force a trade with the logic that I can always get out with a small loss (those trades never have small losses). My job is first to understand my set ups, then take the trades and manage properly. If no trades, then sit.

As has been said before it's about making widgets. And to do that you don't just show up. You've got to know how to do it then follow through.

+30 ticks today. Including sim on Monday +70 for week. Ex-sim +28 for week.

Have a good weekend traders. thanks for the support.

Remember that invisible bridge we talked about

Isn't it interesting how indignant we can become when we veer off it now....

Now that we've become accustom to relying on it :)

I'm back..., back in the saddle again

    Good Job J...

Get some rest - we'll do it all again Monday

  6. yeah, that bridge. I've been stepping out on it more than I realized. No second guessing, little fear. Just gotta stick with it.

    Thanks. Enjoy your weekend.

  9. Another tough session. Narrow range and low volatility. I did make a couple bad trades but mostly it was no follow through on valid trades. I'll review later today to make sure the context was in fact valid. I'm not opposed to going back to sim if I continue to lose in chop.

Part of a possible problem is my expectation of being profitable every day now. I think I then push trades I shouldn't be taking. Like I said last week, can't just show up and expect to make money. Gotta follow the plan.

Just did a little more review and there are a couple trades I should not have taken. Trade management today was fine but I need to step up with better discipline on trade selection.

I've made excellent progress this year. I am not going to let myself slide back into old ways.

    -63 ticks.

Another slip up this week - I'd suggest back on Sim to work through it
