This study is very interesting. Reminds me of a statistics professor who made a point about humans and their tendency to average/balance results. He gave us a simple exercise. Take your laptop, open a word document and fill the page with zeros and ones, print it. Open another word document, use your statistics software to generate the zeros and ones and fill the page, print it. The professor then asked us if we could see any differences between the 2 printed pages. No one could tell!! As he walked around the classroom, he was able to point which were generated from the computer compared to the ones we did ourselves almost every single time. Why? Because the computer generated pages always had much much longer sequences of zeros in a row and ones in a row. Most people, after 6 or 7 zeros in a row, will alternate.

but regarding the rat, an important question still remains... how long would it take him to adapt if the odds were to flip? (4 out of 5 times, it's RED, instead of GREEN)

  2. Wow, this trade blew me away. Barely time to test my discipline but I was feeling fairly relaxed and observant. Was wondering if my entry bar high would be taken out then Boom target. I'm growing quite fond of CL. Volatile due to Inventory #'s.

    Time to re-focus.

  3. Thank you, we're doing good work.

I've certainly been through the periods of negative reinforcement when I thought I was doing the right thing. Hopefully going forward , now that I'm doing more correct , disciplined trading and keeping better stats, when I hit that rough patch it will be a bit easier to stay disciplined and with the plan.

I do need to remind myself to focus on the process and not the PnL.

    I think so too

We just needed to step our game up a notch or two - and allow good things happen

Yup - we trade cause we love the process of it - and that's reward enough

The side benefit reaped - is icing on the ole proverbial cake

    :)

  6. :D:D

If we're in the same trades I know I'm doing something right.

Ended up only those two trades today. Hesitated on the 10:53 short. The PB wasn't as clean as I'd like with the doji's and HL.

    Hey NODOJI!

(Sorry to hijack your thread for a sec JAS.)

Tried PMing you. Assume you're out of reach for a reason? Had a quick question about your journal if your available somehow...?

    If not I totally understand.

Another new day - let's make it the same as the last 3 (doing so creates the foundation for consistency)

  9. Yes. Patience , focus, accept uncertainty, and don't increase those targets

  10. Note to self: If you are unsure as to what to do (when looking for an entry) then it likely means there are no valid trades. Your knowledge of your set ups is good enough that YOU WILL RECOGNIZE THEM WHEN THEY SHOW UP.
