Japanese stock/derivative trading on TSE wiil be available thru foreign brokers

  1. Today's Nikkei reported that the Tokyo Stock Exchange will allow foreign brokers to place orders even though they do not have offices in Japan. This should be effective sometime this year.

I think eTrade in the U.S. offers trading in Japanese stocks (no futures). But as they must go through a local broker, the commission is very high. If IB is not your choice, you may now be able to go through your local broker.
