January Trading Journals

  1. I've been on a number of forums with different subjects and they are all the same. 10% information, 90% bullshit. I still enjoy it. Every board has its TraderRX. Every board has people bickering at each other constantly. Kind of like Life..:)

Don't let anyone tell you this is a crappy market, cos it's really not. The more you believe it, the less you'll try, and ultimately, the less you'll make.

  3. Someone shed some light on this market. I have been making less per share over the last few weeks. The last 2 weeks I baraly made 3 cents per share and am finding it to get tougher. Just two monts ago I was making 12 cents a share.

  4. Thanks for putting me on your list uptik2000... I gotta say that I think TradeRX / Protrader should be on it too... yes, his tone is often antagonistic and downright offensive, but he most definitely adds humor, wit and the occassional much needed dose of hardcore reality... underneath his aggressive utterings, I believe that he is a character of great intelligence. He has become part of the Elitetrader furniture in my eyes, and things would not be the same without him!

  6. Hitman,

when i wrote the post describing methods i have found useful for getting out of a slump, i was aware that you are not open minded to most new ideas and generally dont respect other people.. my intention was to bring ideas to the group discussion so that others could comment and perhaps from the conversation of those ideas, every one (including me) could benefit.. i think this is also true for some other people that post on your thread from time to time..

with the abrasive comments you make here i wonder why anyone would want to go work with you.. your numbers were among the lowest of all desk managers at your firm before you started slumping.. combine that with your winning personality and it has to make one wonder.. no offense..

This post refers mostly to recovery after single heavy loss but most of it is valid for "regular" losing streak, IMO.

I am posting it mostly for others to look at as Hitman doesn't seem to believe that his problems are on psychology side of things. Yet, I strongly believe that's the case, and answer is not in this or that setup or strategy but rather in mindset. There are no trading secrets, Grail cup, miracle setups... all the strategies possible are described many times all over the place, pick any that suits your personality and risk tolerance.
Like Brandon said, it's always the trader.

Anyway, here is the post: http://www.siliconinvestor.com/stocktalk/msg.gsp?msgid=14730083

  10. Everyone,

I think this statement makes it very clear about Hitman's intentions on posting his journals. Can't get much clearer than that.

I enjoy reading his journals and appreciate the comments others make. I do now believe it would be better served on another board as Hitman made it clear he doesn't want or need the advice. "Don't offer advice unless asked" seems to be his motto. So, why not give him what he wants.

All of us want to help the Hitman and he is not appreciative. Nothing wrong with that. (unless of course we hand him the holy grail of trading, which I believe comes from within oneself and not outside of oneself) I mean, come on, (for those of us who are older) he's only 22. To me, that is the attitude of a majority of 22 year old men. At least, it was when I was 22. Some, but certainly not all, gain wisdom as we grow older.

IMHO, I find it odd that everyone is still feels the need to "offer advice" to him. He has already made it clear. Listen to him and let's move on to other boards where people do appreciate what is offered.

I appreciate his journals and the considerable amount of time he expends, respect his wishes and somewhat understand where he is coming from.

Lastly, I cannot give enough gratitude to the people who take the time to teach and offer us their experience.:D
