Speculating due to the history of rebellion in the United States...

Those 4 individuals who constructed the initial building of the gallows may have initially built it as a platform for someone to stand above the crowd to give instructions.

Later in the day as the crowd turned from being peaceful to being angry and violent...a different group of individuals erected the noose and supporting beam considering that part of the construction was weak and most likely would not support someone being hanged.

Simply, it was built for visual symbolism as the crowd then chanted "Hang Mike Pence"...a type of intimidation...a lynch mob...a powerful symbol of Hate.

These are the same people that will bring back the individual that caters to them for their votes so that they can continue with the Hatred.

Those 4 individuals were "questioned" but no arrests were made. Also, different individuals added the noose & weak support beams to the platform in daylight...no mention of them being questioned although witnesses stated those "different individuals" were filmed by onlookers on cell phones.

Seems to me that those in the crowd did not share their video as evidence for the police that could identify those directly involved in constructing the gallows.

My America has a deep hatred problem and will HARASS, TERRORIZE and KILL to make their point heard. Yet, easily offended when arrested or shot dead after doing any of the above.

I saw this hatred before the military in grade school, high school, and college...again in the military and still see it after the military. My spouse and I decided to leave the United States to raise a family +20 years ago at a time when social media wasn't polarized with political chaos.

We knew we made the right decision when Trump took office in 2016.

We're among the +18k to 22k U.S. Veterans living abroad who share similar opinions about the decline in Democracy since Trump of 2016 although some would argue it occurred during Vietnam with reminders of it again in the Gulf and Iraq war.

Later, the January 6th Insurrection 2021 on the Capitol proved to us that we made the right decision to protect our family.

P.S. Those arrested and sent to prison for their involvement in the BIG LIE that was the spark for the January 6th Insurrection...some have been convicted and sent to prison.

    Good Riddance to those Anti-Patriots

There is a case before the US Supreme Court regarding the January 6 demonstrators and another case involving President Donald Trump and US Presidential immunity. That is a huge case. That case can get a lot of these bogus cases dismissed and tossed if President Donald Trump prevails. Arguments set for April 25, 2024 (hope I am not mistaken on the date) and the decision is expected somewhere in June 2024.

Due respect, but if you really think they were gonna drag Pence out of there and hang him, or even had any intentions of doing so... or if the however many of thousands of people that were there would have each and every one stood by and watched... man you're nuts.

Yet the insurrection mob was loudly chanting "Hang Mike Pence". All supported by their MAGA Leader Donald Trump.

Trump expressed support for hanging Pence during Capitol riot

You're nuts to ignore the bold fonts that it was a visual symbolism as the crowd then chanted "Hang Mike Pence"...a type of intimidation...a lynch mob...a powerful symbol of Hate.

Do you understand "road rage"? The person in the other car yells at you, gives you the middle finger, intentionally cuts you off in traffic, or then waves a gun so that you can see that person is armed...it's a pattern of escalation.
It's a "visual symbolism" of intimidation and hate. Making a threat to harm someone...that's illegal and subject to arrest.

Yet, if you do not know the person and do not know if they're sane or insane...best to treat it as a real threat especially when they're chanting to HANG YOU. Anyone who has grown up with or personally experienced that type of hatred in a crowd...will easily understand the verbal threats can escalate (less than a minute) very fast into a real threat to cause physical injury or death. :(

It's the reason why some of the Insurrectionists have been given long prison sentences, especially the ones involved in the organization of the Insurrection of January 6th 2024 for the world to see their words on social media.

By the way, one fatal flaw was putting "inexperience people" in charge of requesting help from the National Guard was arguably the biggest mistake on January 6th 2021...people in charge that were not even there or did not have communication with the command structure for the National Guard until after they were evacuated from the building...

    A colossal communication failure.

Come on man... you know how people are. Crowds love to chant. They chant stuff like that at football games and hockey matches. 99.9999% of the people there would NEVER tolerate seeing a man being dragged out of a building and hanged.

We can just agree to disagree. But I'm right.

Like The Who concert in Cincinnati?
There's a big difference in a mob stampede where people unfortunately got trampled to death, and dragging someone, the Vice President of the U.S no less, out of a building and stringing him up.

And Wrb... I have no problem with you at all (except maybe your posts are too long sometimes for a quick read :D ), but just know you're not the only person here that has been around for a long time, seen the world, and transcended themselves across socio-economic levels. So please... don't start with the "Anyone who has grown up with..."... because brother, I've seen it all and then some. I too can be aloof, but having all that "life experience" has taught me to listen to and respect other folks opinions. So I guess we just disagree here.

Never said you have not seen it all...

I specifically asked if you've experienced road rage that quickly escalated from yelling to someone waving a gun at you to show that they're armed and angry. The point of road rage question..as an example of how fast a situation changes when people can not control their emotions.

It's so fast...you will wonder about the sanity of that other person.

With that said, I do not know what you've experienced but I can tell you I have witnessed people dragged out of buildings or their homes and beaten to death by attackers using only their fists and feet (kicks) without the attackers having any weapons. Witnessed before, during, and after the military.

I've seen racial hate, political hate, religious hate...the world is ugly but to dismiss what occurred on January 6th, 2021 is something I will never do as a veteran who once served, 4th generation of a military family since WWI, mother (ex-spouse and still a friend) of my children a west point alumni and my oldest now at a military academy...

America fucked up on that day and needs to own up to who was involved. The day America owns up to it...I will no longer be saddened by it. Those involved should accept their punishment. That's how the country moves forward/beyond it instead of being divisive about the attack on Democracy and the U.S. Constitution.

Until America owns up to what it did on January 6th, 2021 and whom was involved in guiding that crowd into a rage...Veterans as expats like me (there are +18 thousand of us) understand why we live abroad beyond it's less expensive to do so or maybe the healthcare abroad is much better.
