You’re not wrong but a 9/11 style independent commission would be the most credible way to go. If it’s done in the House their subpoena power is weaker than most as you’ve seen with important witnesses like Bolton and McGahn dodging testimony in the past.

Republicans don’t want this commission for political reasons. You have to understand the insurrection happened from within the Republican Party and consisted of their most loyal base. It also will highlight what a despicable group all of the Trump sycophants are and their involvement and incitement, that includes people like Roger Stone and Michael Flynn.

The whole thing highlights just how awful the filibuster really is. Obviously, there is an anarchist wing in the Republican Party that needs to be dealt with but the Republican politicians need them for political power. It’s a downward spiral that feeds radicalization of what are generally normal people. It’s uncertain times in America.

  2. I wonder if they will be reviewing the body camera footage from the Capitol Police as part of the investigation. Oh wait, they don't use body cams so there is no footage from them. Again the reason is that they are *special*. Meanwhile all the congressional reps- pub or dem- go back to their districts and pound the table demanding to know why a certain agency in their state does not have body cams.

Before a tard goes there, I am not saying there was no body camera footage. There were DC Municipal and Maryland community municipals mixed in the crowd who did have body cams and some of the footage came from them.

It is good to be special.

    I mostly agree.

My response was a specific and technical one ... regarding process and procedures.

    Here's another one:

"If it’s done in the House their subpoena power is weaker than most as you’ve seen with important witnesses like Bolton and McGahn dodging testimony in the past."

The House chose not to enforce their subpoenas.

Anyone, can ignore any subpoena, from any entity. It then becomes 'up to' that entity to have their subpoena's enforced.

Someone ignoring a subpoena is not evidence that the subpoena was somehow, "weak."

Many Capital Insurrectionists were filming on their cell phones and proudly posting their videos to social media. Most are being indicted based on their own films and boasts. This may be a good time to point out the Capital building has video cameras all over the outside and inside. There is no need for police body cams to produce evidence in this matter.

Calling for a commission is not lumping it with 9/11.

Commissions were invented long before 9/11; and are not just for incidents "like" 9/11.

I'm ignoring your statement about Trump supporters not being armed and hurting no one.

  6. The doors had magnetic locks and could only be opened from the inside.

Hence all the breaking of windows to get in. As seen in all the videos.
