People believe all sorts of nonsense. Somewhere right now an idiot 18 year old is saying that socialism failed because "they didn't do it right." They need to make cars people want to buy. It's amazing to watch all these companies pour more and more into a market that just isn't there. Consumers do not want 100% EV and governments certainly aren't building the energy infrastructure to be able to power it even if they did. There's a reason the Ford Lightning production line is being idled and it's not that Americans don't like trucks. Trying to out-Tesla Tesla is a stupid idea and no ridiculous Jedi mind trick is going to make it a good one. "What if we build a lower performing model S years after Tesla has already done it?" Jag should sit down at the table and say "What kind of car would you want to run away from a bank robbery in style?" And "What can we build that we can actually make money on?" It's amazing to watch these companies build more and more electric models that they LOSE MONEY ON. Want to make money? Buy the rights to an old BMW M5 chassis and slap a Ford Coyote V8 in it. Get the same plant cranking out Ford's aluminum truck boxes to make your body panels. Crank them out as fast as you can. Then next year, release a model with a supercharger. No self driving. No lane assist. No self parking. Include the minimum possible amount of that nonsense so you can develop a car in a reasonable amount of time at a reasonable cost.
And another doubling down in woke hypocrisy. Mandatory D.E.I. ... which means targeting white culture and whites in general. Whites to be removed from the board and replaced with members of 'color'. No more based on merit or skill level or tenure. Same goes with white men from engineering being forced to leave, or leaving voluntarily... I'm about to say you can't make this racism up... but in woke-land, it's a real thing still. Good luck investing in this shit... I have no issues with anyone shorting it though.
I have had two (company car lease) Jags, more Alfa Romeo than any other brand. They understand that most people want something that is a nice place to sit in. On paper the new Tonale hybrid is perfect but I'm just not loving the just another SUV style but what can you do?
