I especially enjoyed goading the guy into posting fills in RT. He lost 4% the first day and quit. This was with impossible fills, so he actually lost much more.

The dude passed with tax bills on his $150K Tucson home (in wife's name).

He posted a screenshot of his IBTWS F&F front-end. He was managing $96K of OPM. "It's all that I need."

Can you delusionals keep to one or two Hershey threads?

  5. Weird, I see his account starting from $100,838 and gaining $4,500ish first day resulting his beginning account balance on 2nd day to $105,004 after comms. 2nd day he also gained $8,200ish and if he posted 3rd day's beginning balance, it would have been around $113,000. Around 12% gain in two days?

His account balance during the day doesn't seem to reflect the gains from the current day's trades and only reflect the negatives from commissions charged. The whole net is shown the next day.

Hi Sprout, I spent a lot of time looking at Jack's futures trading years ago. I was aware of Jack's stock trading method but didn't go too far with it at the time. I probably should have followed his advice of learning stock trading before moving to futures, but he was focused on teaching futures at that time and I wanted to follow along in real-time. Recently I've resumed an interest in stocks and have been spending time learning various tools and methods for screening with sites like finviz, etc. However my preference would be to have more control over the historical data and more customization of the screening logic. I've written a lot of vba code in my time, so if you are willing to share your vba-sqllite version I'd be willing to update it pull from a current source, and would certainly consider collaborating on a re-write.

As I went to retrieve the files from an older laptop, it failed to boot up - just a blank white screen.

It'll go to the shop this week for data recovery. If that fails, I have paper copies of the logic flow and sql statements that I have elsewhere that I can upload. The main controller is coded in VBA for Mac so even with intact files it won't run on a windows machine. The sqllite sql statements and db structure should port fine.

That link takes me back. When looking for truth and meaning one is susceptible to BS. Reminds me of scripture:

Luke 11:24-26 New International Version (NIV)
24 “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ 25 When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. 26 Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first.”

    Deep rabbit hole indeed!

No worries Sprout, I appreciate you having a look. If it's not too much bother I'd love to see the logic flow paper and sql.

I've coded some other market-analysis tools in the past and I found that I spent far more time on the grunt work of collecting data and rolling it up into various time-series than I did on actual trading logic. So I'm always keeping an eye out for more efficient ways of doing these things.
