So the thread is to post some backtesting results for the automated strategy utilizing Jack Hershey/Joe Ross market pattern with some probability numbers from the casino game known as the Craps taken as the baseline for the execution framework.lol.... The image below is the result from just one expiery.I`m limited with the data, so the whole sample will be fairly short.I know that small sample is not that relevant, but as soon as i get some massive sample of data, i`m surely test it on it.
What he was pursuing was pretty much true.. just needed sophisticated code to auto channel and trendline draw..
I spent two months trying to do that code five years ago and hired a Russian who did it in three days, life is weird. I see youtube vid has Donchian channel for starting trend line, whereas I use strength of pivot to left/right instead. What I find amusing that ave trade was $37 bucks without comm so $33 net which is actually pretty good for scalping, of course if you day trading for larger profits, is $33 considered good? Winning trades ave more than losing and doing 60%, even after many trades, you going to have profitable months.
My automation based on weekly stats does between 12 and 29 bucks most weeks but I trade for ticks, so if method is going for several points, I wanted to understand better what those averages would be. I been working on a day trading system past five months where I stay in trades a great deal longer, it is funny that the worse trades happen last hour of the day. Have you done any back testing divided by the hour?
It would be worse, at least from my testing. Try to avoid the opening. The second hour from the opening and the last hour work quite well though.
Now JH decides to dump JR and go on his own.He pulls out some cases from his old attic and learns more about the Craps game. But he figures that his Largest losing trade is now a bit greater then his Largest winning trade, yet he manages to profit a little more. Now he`ll get back to fix some issues.
Less trades, less profit, less contracts(2).Improved overal. But, better risk, which is more important!
