right , right... Stupid me , now I cannot see/read his words of wisdom. If I only knew how to undo the Ignore... BTW , DXL spread was a 1 max and four contracts mm took for 50c , not a big deal but...
Yeah, I do, and you should thank me for doing your homework for you and serving it up for you to read. Isn't reading it a lot better than reading those one-liners written in code and jargon? But instead of reading it and learning he impulsively puts it on ignore and then does not know how to undo it. Who is angry here? And this is not the first time he blew up over nothing. And how many questions does he refuse to answer?
Ahh, well You may not like his style, but I read it about the same as Mystic At the risk of being put on ignore, WHY would you look at DXL and have to pay up when you close? Also you are trading small size, what happens if you want to scale up? Personally I would rather trade the DJX. Never too proud to learn something new, so If I have missed something please let know. Steve
Steve, Your not missing much except 70 DJX puts (or 7 DXL) is not really small size. If there was decent liquidity in the jumbos there would be no question what to use, but there is not so he will be having a personal relationship with the MM. Do you think that those guys might look at who is the totality of the open interest? I have never seen someone who doesn't even know about deltas throw so much money at the market. He puts all our questions on ignore, and when in spite of that we try to help him he explodes. Admittedly my post had somewhat of an edge to it, but if he would reciprocate more then we might be able to have a constructive dialog and it wouldn't be so one-sided.
You really assume you're a value add due to some HS statistics? Served up on a silver platter, lmao... omfg, I am pissing myself. This from the guy that states "dispersion is a vol-play." You want to rethink that one? REFUSE to answer?! WTF are you to demand anything from anybody. I'll show some solidarity with my friend IV -- ignore works like a charm.
I think it's pretty pathetic to gloat about a trade in which he gave up a few basis in edge. Like you pikers haven't made a mistake. BTW -- IV's inability to undo the ignore process was more than a hint of sarcasm.
very good questions , Steve , and that's the exact reason for my original q&a post about DXL , I thought someone might share experience with this new product. At the time of transaction , DXL vols was a bit lower that DIA's. DIA ask was 95 cents and I paid 9$ for DXL , so I saved 400$ inc commissions. I don't see nothing wrong with trying (small) a new staff.
Shows that anybody can come in here and post anything and call people names, but oops . . . I forgot this is the self-proclaimed "king" of the board who has contributed very little except for cryptic one-liners. Why don't you write something of value, oh great one -- you who know so much? Now the pattern with IV_Trader is that he says, "Guys, Look what I'm doing". Then when one of us says, "We don't understand... what *are* you doing?", he just ignores it. Is that any way to learn something?
thanks , B BTW , the reverse dispersion works very well for me for a second month now , a lot of flexibility in adjustments/early exits. I already closed three basket's components and corespondent portion of Index long puts (all six legs with profit) , while still maintaining very high correl. Have a happy and profitable New Year
Great, IV. When abs-vols get this low it's time to buy the box. Good luck and be careful into earnings.
