I have not been to a Starbucks in a few years but, if I recall correctly, you can order a dark or lighter roast. In any event, I don't like to order coffee that has already been made, regardless of guarantee of freshness. I prefer my order to be made on the spot, so I normally order a long espresso (~twice the water). Freshness is more certain and it has a full-bodied taste. I order mine with a little bit of hot milk, much less than you would get in a cappuccino or cafe au lait (latte). Give that a try, at Starbucks or elsewhere.
You're right, but I can't drink much coffee these days. The whole Afib thingy put a halt to caffeine. Prior to this I did usually make my coffee at home. Rarely drank it otherwise.
You could always get chamomile tea there. I have to believe that is exciting for someone- maybe with a dash of milkweed. I see people coming in that look like they have a concealed garlic press on their belt ordering it.
Open carry would be fine, even if it is a garlic press. Although Starbucks would object. That garlic press could look like a gun, especially if it had pearl or rosewood grips.
