Trump is denigrating the presidency for sure but the discord he has sowed among the population along with the worst fiscal management maybe ever are really the reasons he is ranked so low. When the least of your problems is cheating on your wife when your son is four months old you know you’re a low life.
Since there are folks on this forum who regularly improperly state my position regarding Trump let me make it clear once again. When it comes to Presidents I focus on their actions and policies. With Trump there are some policies and actions I support and others I oppose. The same with Obama, Bush, etc. I believe it is best to focus on specifics rather than generally despising or supporting President as a whole. My position on Trump has been consistent there are some policies from Trump I support (immigration reform, building the wall). There are other policies I do not support (portions of trade issues for instance, education changes). From the perspective of success or failure I look at it from the perspective of the success or failure to enact their policy agenda (and the need to have a clearly defined policy agenda). I will admit that Obama appears to be much more successful in defining and enacting an agenda than Trump. Trump's only success to date appears to be tax reform and that was driven out of Congress rather than the White House. Do I believe at this point Trump should be in the bottom 10 Presidents? Yes. Can his ranking improve if his administration gets their act together? Yes. Does Trump deserve to be ranked as the absolute worst President? No. Am I a "Trump supporter"? Generally no. I find more negatives with Trump than positives.
There are no Trump policies, guy is a drama queen who does whatever is in his best interest in the moment and at current time, the Republican agenda of fellating the rich is an agenda that suits Trump very well. Problem with this agenda is of course that it has never worked in the past, it's a slow burn to another crisis just like it was under Hoover, Reagan or Dubya and then blaming the next Democrat for not cleaning up the mess fast enough.
