  2. Yeah, why should the Muslims be mad at us just because we killed hundreds of thousands of them for no good reason?

Whether it's "offensive" or not is unrelated to whether or not it's true, no less true than the "savagery" of the Indian coming in large part as a result of the behavior and policies of American settlers.

Many Indian tribes in the western plains were "savages" before white man even showed up on the continent. For example, punishment for a member of another tribe caught in a raid involved skinning them alive. Read your history.

Not that the Europeans at that time were much better.

So explain where we killed hundreds of thousands of Muslims in the modern era. That is a complete fallacy.

And many white tribes in Europe were savages long before they landed on this continent. Read your history.

Depends on what you mean by "modern era". The West has interfered in Africa and the Middle East for over a century. It's just taken a while for the chickens to come home to roost. This delayed consequence does not, however, relieve us of responsibility, something the right-wingers are forever going on about.

Hence my comment about the Europeans.

However I expect you are one of those people trying to make the case that all the Native Americans were peaceful and noble before the white settlers showed up and turned them into savages. This simply is not true.

I didn't say that they were peaceful and noble. My point was that whites were not justified in believing that the behavior of the Indians was unwarranted. Ditto today with Muslim extremists. Or Negroes. Or Palestinians. Or . . .
