Its hard to have a rational discussion when one party is telling lies in the discussion.

Since it is clear that Tony is incapable of going to resources and reading them to educate himself even when directly provided with the link --- the information below is for those who desire to learn more about the subject of flipped seats since Trump took office.

There are 7 sources of seats flipped between parties since the election of Trump:
    • Special elections for U.S. Senate and House held in 2017 and 2018.
    • Special elections for state legislators (both state Senate and state House) held in 2017.
    • Special elections for state legislators (both state Senate and state House) held in 2018.
    • Normal General elections for state legislators (both state Senate and state House) held in 2017.
    • Special elections held for state Executive branch offices (Governor, Lieutenant Governor, State DA, etc.) held in 2017 or 2018
    • State Officials who switch parties (e.g. the Governor of West Virginia)
    • State Officials dismissed (or resigned) from office and replaced with members of the other party by appointment. (e.g. in Colorado)
When the media luridly reports about all 50 seats that have flipped to Democrats -- their summaries and headlines are based on all of these sources.

Let's take a look in more detail...

Here is information on the exact number of seats which were flipped in state special elections in 2017.
    https://ballotpedia.org/State_legislative_special_elections,_2017

"In total, 17 state legislative seats flipped party control in 2017. Democrats flipped 14 seats and Republicans flipped three seats as a result of special state legislative elections in 2017."

Full details are given at the link - including details on all the seats that have been flipped.
Now remember special elections in 2017 are just one source of flipped seats between parties.

There of course is standard general state legislative elections held in 2017:
    https://ballotpedia.org/State_legislative_elections,_2017

Special elections held for Congress in 2017 & 2018:
    https://ballotpedia.org/Special_elections_to_the_115th_United_States_Congress_(2017-2018)

As noted in the details - https://ballotpedia.org/State_legislative_special_elections,_2017#Historical_data - Overall there was only a 11 total state legislator seat gain in 2017 from Republicans to Democrats (Chart at bottom) from special elections.

The primary ballotpedia election page links to many other resources on their site for elections for various offices or for results & information by state. https://ballotpedia.org/Elections

The ballotpedia website has reams of other data that can be reviewed. I will allow people to go review all the details and be informed.

As I stated earlier - clearly the Democrats have made some significant gains in special and general elections since Trump was elected. Democrats should be heartened by these results; while Republicans should be concerned about the results.

However as noted in many in-depth summaries from statistical observers (such as 538) this is hardly evidence of a "blue wave". The 2018 general mid-term election is still months away - much can happen leading up to the election, but there is little evidence that Democrats will excel beyond historical norms for seat gains in this election.

From the CNN article - "The 43 wins for Democrats have not been a net gain, however. Democrats, in some cases, have lost state legislative seats, like in California where voters recalled Democrat Josh Newman and replaced her with Republican Ling Ling Chang earlier this month."

If you want to see what failure looks like --- here it is...

Democrats lost over 1,000 seats under Obama
    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/12/27/democrats-lost-over-1000-seats-under-obama.html

President Obama claims he could have won a third term if he had been allowed to run – but even if he's right, his coattails haven’t done much for the rest of his party.

While Obama’s tireless campaigning, broad demographic appeal and message of “hope” and “change” helped propel him to two terms in the White House, his skills on the stump haven’t translated down the ballot.

The Democratic Party suffered huge losses at every level during Obama’s West Wing tenure.

The grand total: a net loss of 1,042 state and federal Democratic posts, including congressional and state legislative seats, governorships and the presidency.

The latter was perhaps the most profound example of Obama's popularity failing to translate to support for his allies. Hillary Clinton, who served as secretary of state under Obama, brought the first family out for numerous campaign appearances. In September, Obama declared that his “legacy’s on the ballot.”

Less than two months later, Americans voted for Donald Trump.

What is clear is that you can't spell very well.

I may live in a lair, I am not a lair.

But sadly when presented with irrefutable documented summary of the facts -- the best you can do is call people names and declare them to be liars, or lairs... or whatever.
