Democrats have flipped 39 statehouse seats since President Donald Trump took office, many of them in deeply red districts Trump swept by large margins in 2016. Last year, Democrats flipped 33 state legislative seats, including 15 in the Virginia statehouse, and took the New Jersey governor's mansion and a US Senate seat in ruby red Alabama. So far in 2018, the party has made unexpected gains in conservative states, including Wisconsin, Missouri, Florida, andKentucky. Last week, Democrat Philip Spagnuolo beat Republican Les Cartier by eight points in a district Trump won by 13. And in Connecticut, Democrat Phil Young flipped a seat that had been under GOP control for the last 44 years. Republicans, by comparison, have flipped just four seats from blue to red
Looks like I need to take out the paddle and publicly spank you for your deliberate self-imposed ignorance once again. Is your butt still sore from the spanking you just received about blacks moving to the South in the "Shouldn't producing ISIS propaganda be a pretty good reason for denying a handgun permit?" thread. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...g-a-handgun-permit.322754/page-8#post-4686386 It appears the only words you know are "Thank you, sir. May I have another". It's truly sad that you can't even dig up information when sent directly to the National Conference of State Legislatures website. But let's explore some facts... we will start with the recent history and upcoming opportunity of the Democratic party in elections. The Democratic Party Got Crushed During The Obama Presidency. Now if Tony is wiling to move on from simply calling everyone a LIAR... and actually have a rational discussion about the upcoming 2018 election based on facts and informed opinions I will be happy to oblige. From my perspective -- considering the popularity ratings of Trump and the traditional history of the minority party making gains in mid-term elections -- anything less than the Democrats taking control of the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House should be considered a significant under-performance by the Democrats. While things can change between now and election day -- it is likely that Democrats will under-perform once again. I do see a path to them taking the House but as noted in the article I posted earlier almost no probability of taking the Senate. But I am someone who looks at cold hard facts and attempts to arrive at an informed opinion rather than merely screeching as a cheerleader for one party or the other.
