Im not sure a deal is even an option anymore after Trump pulled out of one. No way a true treaty would make it through the senate so here we are.
meh, I'd counter the nuclear program is precisely to squeeze easing of sanctions (in the case of Iran at least). For reference, see reasons behind the bombing of pearl harbor.
It doesn’t matter, I highly doubt we could build the international pressure and coalition to bring the Iranians to the table again.
Joe doesnt want to go that route anyway. He wants to find out what the UN and the EU want to do and then say "me too." Obama did some of that too. He could not get approval to attack Libya so he got "approval" from NATO and the UN and said that was his authorization.
Yup, and now that no one is enforcing or even interested in enforcing sanctions on North Korea, they are getting parts, technology, and advisers up the ying-yang (that might be a racist term, not sure) from guess who, yeh, Iran. Both countries know the "send me money or I will nuke ya" routine quite well. Obviously VZ Maduro falls into the "enduring poverty to hold on to power" category too.
Well... in recent news... Iran is doing everything possible to delay re-engaging in nuclear talks. Iran not ready for nuclear talks until Raisi takes over https://www.reuters.com/world/middl...lks-until-raisi-takes-over-source-2021-07-14/ Iran is not prepared to resume negotiations on coming back into compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal until Iranian President-elect Ebrahim Raisi's administration has begun, a diplomatic source said on Wednesday. The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Iran had conveyed this to European officials acting as interlocutors in the indirect U.S.-Iranian negotiations and that the current thinking is the Vienna talks will not resume before mid-August. "They are not prepared to come back before the new government," said the source, saying it was not clear whether this meant until Raisi formally takes over on Aug. 5 or until his government is in place. "We are now talking probably not before mid-August," added the source. Talks began in April on reviving the 2015 nuclear deal, formally named the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), but have appeared stuck since their sixth round ended on June 20, with no sign when they may resume. The agreement, which Democratic former President Barack Obama negotiated and Republican former President Donald Trump abandoned, struck a balance between Iran accepting limits to its nuclear program in return for relief from economic sanctions. A U.S. State Department spokesperson confirmed that Iran had asked for more time because of its presidential transition. "We were prepared to continue negotiating but the Iranians requested more time to deal with their presidential transition," said the State Department spokesperson. "When Iran is done with its process, we are prepared to plan our return to Vienna to continue with our talks," she added. "We remain interested in seeking mutual return to compliance with the JCPOA, though as (Secretary of State Antony Blinken) has made clear, this offer will not be on the table indefinitely."
UsualTard promised us that things would start getting better in the mideast as soon as we got rid of Bibi. And then having Biden was to be a bonus for achieving peace. Provided that Israel was not totally wiped out first I guess. Still waiting for that Usual Tard Peace Accord. Not looking good just yet. Israelis plan military buildup to counter 'Iran arming itself with a nuclear weapon' Joel Gehrke Thu, July 15, 2021, 12:47 PM·3 min read Iran’s burgeoning nuclear weapons threat is spurring Israeli leaders to counter with their own military expansion, according to the Jewish state’s top defense official. “Against the greatest threat, Iran arming itself with a nuclear weapon, we have no choice but to expand our force buildup, to continue to rely on our human capital, and to adapt our capabilities and our plans,” Defense Minister Benny Gantz told Israeli National Defense College graduates. President Joe Biden’s administration is attempting to curtail the Iranian nuclear threat through negotiations to rehabilitate the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. Those “indirect talks” have stalled after six rounds that failed to produce a breakthrough agreement, as regime officials now are in the midst of a transition from outgoing Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who is being replaced by the hard-line judiciary chief, Ebrahim Raisi, who was declared the winner of the latest presidential elections. https://news.yahoo.com/israelis-plan-military-buildup-counter-194700134.html
It's their money you don't get to keep it. The US didn't give Iran any money. It did however help fund military squads in various countries like Afghanistan that later led to terrorist groups. You also don't get to destroy their nuclear facilities based on the premise of what you think they might do.
