So this year your losses are smaller then before. Why are you trading and tell others to stop trading/gambling? This kind of remarks show that you are not educated as they are irrelevant to the discussion. There is no basis for posting such a claim. I could make the same kind of remarks, like "do you still have sex with your overaged, senile mother?". But as I am educated I will not do that.
I had a friend who was really good at these online SnG (sit and go) poker tournaments. He eventually was sponsored by some Poker pros to go the WSOP in 2010 and he got to the last day but didn't make it to the final table. So there is a subculture of former pros who invest in good online players to go to the WSOP tournaments. He now runs one of these Poker websites that help people improve on SnG tournaments.
Thorp was famous for saying that he thought Casinos were crooks until he started to trade on Wall Street and concluded there were no bigger crooks than the wall street crowd. Thorp was also famous being one of the early traders doing research to see if warrants were priced correctly and he concluded most of them undervalued since they were just enticements for Junk Bond offerings. He was also famous for creating investment vehicles that created losses for the sole purpose of reducing taxes.
Is Thorp alive as of today 2023? do you know if he is he still trading the stonk market? if not, why not?
Instead of trying to prove you wrong like everyone else, I'm curious if you could explain exactly what you mean is gambling and why? Thank you.
He's still alive at 90 years old. I don't know if he's still actively invested into the stock market. But he advises investing into ETFs for people who don't have informational edge. In the early age of his Wallstreet career he was mainly doing statistical arbitrage More or less came with the Black Scholes before it went published and mainstream.
I thought it is NSE. https://economictimes.indiatimes.co...or-4th-straight-year/articleshow/97420616.cms
You're right. Volume in measured in terms of the number of contracts, rather than notional value. But when you click on the '+' then most of the volume is Options (6,000,000,000) and the rest is Futures Link here
