Iterative Refinement

  1. This is a first. . . unless I have missed others.

  2. Just a food for though: 1615 is IRV with price closing inside the previous bar. As such it represents change in mode (from short to long). Next bar - 09:35 the first bar of the day is presumed unknown until proved otherwise. What follows on 09:40 is increasing black. This perspective possibly would make sense of annotations there.

EDIT: it appears that the gaussians there are annotated for a faster fractal traverses (in the beginning of the day), as they lack the numbers (1,2 and 3) - keeping this in mind may help to avoid a confusion.

  3. Spyder,

Was the 10:35 bar the end of a traverse and channel (which began yesterday at 15:05) and the beginning of an entirely new traverse? If so, was the correct action from this point on (for an ES only trader) to hold a long position til EOD?

  4. A very important question indeed, the answer to which I also would like to know.

    P.S
    • I see a red PA on 1545, which means the dominant red has to return.
    • Except on 1600 we get another PA, this time the black one
    • Sooo, the black dominant has to return before we can be finished with 1545 red PA.
    • The black dominant returns on 0940 ad 1005 shows increasing red, but it's a lateral FBO and presents itself in form of yet another PA
    • So we have to sit through another pace step down to get to our dominant red on 1030 which was expected from the huge 1545 red PA.
I dunno, probably I am just hallucinating, seeing PA's everywhere I go
    :D

just end of a dom traverse, not channel ... 3 more traverses follow: blue non-dom up, purple dom down (end of down channel), blue up that waits for a signal of change ... or not yet :)

the purple dom down traverse is nice to ... debrief: 3 moves :)

  8. The 10:35 Bar provided the Signal for Change after the completion of a dominant faster fractal traverse which formed / completed the down (Pink morning Trend Lines) Traverse which began the previous trading day (Friday).

If you held long through the second Pink down traverse, then you missed something.

(All times Eastern and [close of] ES bar)

  9. I am very interested to learn why the 9:30 bar did not represent a SOC of the completed traverse from yesterday and start the move from Pt1 to Pt2 down?

    All and any comments welcome.

I may be all wet here, but I copied the channel lines from yesterday and bracketed the opening few bars of today. This carried over the long channel as shown.

Pardon, but I am still struggling with carry over channels on a breakout and this is an attempt to put them in perspective.
