Iterative Refinement

  1. Your Green and Second Orange trendlines can't represent completed Traverses. They look like they do, but something is missing from each.

  2. Fine if you 'jump fractals' but a train wreck if you don't. 11:40 to 12:30 also does not form a Traverse on the ES Five minute fractal (I assume you annotated that as well, and I am just getting ahead of the questions. :) )

  3. You are close on the Blue channel line - except it should be a Traverse line. Something tells you this is so.

  4. This is like saying you arrived at the World Series to play Second Base for the Yankees, but forgot your Bat and Glove.

sorry, late night. 3 band Neil Young concert. Wont happen again, until the next one.

Thanks for the reply. I think I can see it. I'll try to do more detail later.

BTW, we are not done with that IBGS bar from yesterday. I found several and can not find the subtle differences yet. Only thing I notice on all of them was the gaussian peaks and valleys had the same sequence but yestedays was too early in the day for that theory. I'll post the date and time examples later so hopefully someone can help me see.

  5. Nothing to worry about. I expected people to have difficulty with today, as the market provided several areas which look almost exactly like what everyone has come to know as Traverses, yet a subtle difference exists which indicates this cannot be the case.

Note the area between 11:40 and 12:30. This cannot represent a Traverse, yet I suspect many had this area annotated as such.

Once a trader understands why this area cannot represent a Traverse, but could represent part of a Traverse, things should become much, much clearer.

  6. You mean in the highlighted area I could NOT have a traverse?

The reason why I have one there is because I could at least draw two tapes (=traverse). Oh... wait... does this have to do with the lateral move which I didn't draw until the end? I think I vaguely guess what you mean. Something like "...if there is a lateral move and I continue to draw my tapes within then I would be jumping fractals...".

    Thanks.

  8. A possible scenario
    1030 soc to long
    1100 p2 with no p3 until
    1220 p3 confirmed
1230 one of those cool ibgs soc bars :(

problem with this, one could draw a lateral from either 1110 or 1145 in which case we did not return to blk dominance.

  9. Correct. It looks like one (based on price), but it lacks several other key ingredients which exist in all Traverses. Again, I refer specificaly to the ES 5 minute Traverse Level trading resolution only.

  10. If I told you the sky was blue - right now at 3:07 PM, and you responded with, "Yea but, if I were in Bulgaria having a beer with Mr. Black the sky would be black right now."

I'd respond by saying, "Well are you in Bulgaria - right now?

Listen, anybody can decide something exists. Anyone can think, "Well look, I have a Jokari Window Change right there (increasing red closing back inside the previous bar), and I have a IBGS on increasing Volume (you might want to note that example for yesterday's deal :) ) over here, and I have a Lateral in between (Point Two to Point Three), so I must see a traverse."

Unfortunately, what doesn't exist right here exists in all Traverses. Therefore, it cannot be a Traverse.

Again, recognizing the subtle differences (and by the way, this difference isn't so subtle) makes all the difference in the world.
