Here is a simple chart showing today's volatility vs. volume. It shows you why as beginners, lunchtime is a good time to, well, have lunch! Seriously, I'm finding myself as a routine, only trading about 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.
FWIW, I do better this way too. Not only does it help to keep one out of trouble, but a couple hours away from the screen makes the afternoon session much more relaxed.
Thanks for the chart, I will share my notes from my daily chart. <img src="http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=1739631"> EDIT: I will add the following about modes: - continuation on the forest channel. - possible alert for change on traverse (tree) level
Any Tradestation users here? Have you guys noticed that TS is starting to charge a $55 fee for CBOE data? i noticed this when my stretch and squeeze trigger stop to show anything..... now i trade ES so i really have no need for this YM data, but was wondering if anyone have been using let's say NQ and Nasdaq100 instead of YM / DowJones industrial average for their stretch and squeeze? if so, have you found this to be equally effective? is anyone else doing the same thing as me? looking for other instruments other than YM as the stretch and squeeze?
Spyder, With the new chartscript what volume value do you recommend to use to trigger volume alerts? Is it UVDU? Thanks
my ninja 6.5 doesn't work well with volumeprv after 5m it stops displaying that indicator leaving me a blank slot, which version do you use?
