Iterative Refinement

Discussion in 'Journals' started by Spydertrader, Jan 3, 2008.

  1. Spyder,

Does a lateral movement have to begin with a pennant or can one call something like the 10:50-11:00 AM threesome in today's ES, a lateral movement (I did a search and did not find anything explicitly stated)? Also, this particular one began with an outside bar but I don't think this is of consequence.

  2. Lateral Movement occurs irrespective of formations. Lateral Formations occur when subsequent bars form inside Bar 1 of a Pennant.

I use pretty much similar things in my trading..

Just wanted to show the power of these principles,

    1) position sizing
    2) trendlines
    3) channels
    4) MA's
    5) price action(tic)
    6) no fixed personal directional biases

The video was suppose to be a full session from 9:30 am- 4:15 pm..

The camtasia studio when merging files truncated, the last two hours. Not sure if its a software max...

But at the end of the vid..200K was made, at the end of the session 700K was made..by 4:15pm

There is a liquidity limit in ES, once you start approaching higher lot sizes.

Anyways, wanted to show the power..of these principles since many detract from them.

I came across this journal and found similar trading patterns, I have yet to go through this journal in a more extensive manner.

  9. $11,000 against you in the first half hour and trading at $1,000. a tick is a little too much for my nerves, and I am the calm trader !
Appreciate the video. Music is great during trading, good songs.

    Thanks for the video.

The internet never fails to amaze me; how children think that just because they are posting on an anonymous forums, they can pretend to be grown ups. You and me, one of us was born yesterday.

If you cannot sim one contract with consistent profit and prudent money management, simming multiple contracts with no money responsibilities will only entertain the naive, and delay your learning process to eventual profitability.
