Don't hold through earnings. Holding through earnings is very risky. This message has been mentioned several times within the journals.
My ES chart for Friday. I use QCharts and don't know how to shade areas for FTPs FBPs etc. Any comments appreciated.
Thank you, everyone, for the valuable posts yesterday and today. During debrief I noticed that my convention for annotating Gaussians around IBGS bars (including outside bars) and Point 3âs is sometimes slightly different from the way other wonderful posters here do it. Maybe I too strictly interpret the guideline that "Gaussian peaks and troughs must match price peaks and troughs." Or perhaps Iâm missing something.
Thanks to Spyderâs excellent lesson in the Futures Journal and the question Romanus asked about HVS/lateral movement/even harmonics, I think I understand better now how to view the lateral movement area starting at 15:10 yesterday. We had decreasing volume after the 15:10 bar until 15:30 (14:15 to 14:35 on my chart) and I was stuck in the wabbit hole and wasn't paying attention to context. That period looks similar to the volume area shaded in Spyder's post here: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1451061#post1451061 There are some contextual differences as well. Thanks, guys.

Spy posted this chart on 5/1. I have a question on the color of 3 bars in it as annotated in the attachment. If based on either current bar open, or previous bar close, I think the color should be different. Did I miss the memo on the new bar color rules?
