    Hi romanus
Thank you for posting your well annotated ES 06-09 5 27 2009 (5 min) chart. I always struggle with "Overlap Pt1's only" rule, especially with this type of chart - two tapes form a traverse first; then the traverse becomes ES 5 Min traverse followed by a steep Accelerated Traverse.

According to Gaussians on the chart, I assumed blue and pink with numbers marked represent ES 5 Min traverse trend lines; red and green with numbers marked represent Accelerated Traverse trend lines. Could you explain the rules you used for overlapping Pt2 and Pt3 ?
    TIA! Good trading to you!

  2. nkhoi, there's no difference in the way channels are drawn. In the second pic your initial p3 is in a different place, so the tool selects p2 accordingly.

The guys have done a nice job with the SCT mods for NT - Thanks for all the SW contributions! Still getting used to NT charting though.... and I notice myself getting lazy on annotations. Time to tighten it up a bit!

I admit I got very comfortable with Ensign for annotating tools - and I really grew found of the "Gap remover" tool.

    Old dogs... New tricks...

    Fun close today :)

    Time for debrief.

  6. Attached is Friday's open on the DAX (unannotated).

As a drill, apply the principles you have learned here bar by bar and make a brief note of the monitoring, analysis decisions and actions you would make in real time, being as realistic as possible. Start at 9am.

Let me know how you get on and estimate the P&L and whatever assumptions you made. (A model answer from Spyder would be most excellent too.)

What I'm wrestling with is timely actions, LOL. Actually it's not funny.

With just a quick look, that's a brutal chart with all the overlap. I'd want to look at some finer tools and probably another time frame - cheat. If we get a typical low volume Summer the ES might look similar to that.

Someone posted, at one time, a market that acted as a leader for the DAX, like the YM/ES relationship. Do you have anything like that? - EZ

  8. My gaussians are not annotated correct - as you noticed wmcn according to my annotations did not come on the next day.

Red is actually a CHANNEL, which is the reason for my incorrect gaussians.

    Trends overlap on Point One.

    On anticipating an accelerated traverse.
