I've been thinking about strict Gaussian alignment to Price Channels and finally eeked this out.

I know that not everyone draws their Gaussians strictly; however, I believe that a rank beginner should very much do so. Just like when beginning to draw channels at first, it is better to follow the mechanics as strictly as possible. Ditto for the Gaussians.

    So any furious disagreements?

  2. Jack posted this one, and I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest Jack posted an accurate summary. :)

  3. second attempt. . .

Had yet to arrive at a point 3 of the traverse that started 14:20

edit: which is the end of the final dominant traverse of that channel

The market has started a long traverse at 10:45 after completing the second dominant traverse of the down channel that started 11:30 on 12/4.

This long traverse is expected to initiate a long channel, and after leading to the channel pt2 with it's FTT, it would be followed by a short traverse to the channel pt3, and then right to left up into the channel for the next dominant traverse.

Friday provided an accelerated traverse in the afternoon and broke the RTL of the down channel on the 14:50 bar. It should have been anticipated that the new up channel pt2 would reside outside the previous channel, so until the RTL was broken we wouldn't anticipate the FTT of the traverse that began at 10:45. Therefore there would be no reason to go short before the FTT when it occurred after the BO.

I had these thoughts earlier this afternoon while trying to get caught up on the thread, and I know that others had similar ideas, but I don't think they were articulated properly or even posted.

    Spyder,

I have not responded until now because I am confused as to what answer you are seeking (going by your comments to romanus, ticktrade and tiki). In fact I am more confused trying to figure out what you are asking than when I am looking at a live chart ( that in itself is great news - that the market is less confusing than trying to decipher your post :D).

Anyways I am assuming you are really looking for a self assessment of where we stand and I will reply with that in mind.

I have chosen to trade the 5min ES however am I always staying on the 5min ES? No
This is a goal. I annotate as throughly as possible. However as you noted recently some sections of the chart do end up being off a bit.
I surely miss make mistakes in my M. I consider M to be tapes, gaussians, traverses, channels, formations and internals and the sequences.
Lots of room for improvement in the M phase.
    Yes.
Incorrectly drawn tapes and occasional gaussian annotation that I am not sure about.

The introduction of Faster fractal traverses really had be pulling my hair and I was extremely confused. However I am pleased to say that I have managed to identify ff traverses and have a good handle on them.

Laterals when and where to draw them still present a problem so I have dispensed with drawing laterals and instead just draw tapes, however a tape break and an increase in volume on the next bar (which might still be in a lateral) completes a sequence and gets me out of sequence.

    Answer to Spyder,

The M part of MADA requires us to know where price resides in the sequence on all three levels for ES traverse level trading. The levels are tape, traverse and channel. If we monitor accurately then we are able to differentiate between price moving between point (1 and 2) and (2and3) I look at price moving between 1 and 2 as a single unit that has specific characteristics that are unambiguous. For me this has been hard to get to. When price is moving between 2 and 3 there are different characteristics. This movement is easier to identify.
These two movements are on all 3 levels, tape, traverse, and channel. I have to identify all of these and know them cold. I found that I am guessing because I don’t know all of the specific ways that price moves. So to answer your question, I need to focus on that part of M A D A. How does price move between point 1 and 2 and 2 and 3 and all of the characteristics. Then I will know what you say about the chart to be true

  9. Yes, please do so. :) If his drawing is intended for people further advanced it might be useful and understandable but for a beginner who hears about "gaussians", R2R, etc. for the first time this is well.... let's say "improvable". For example why does he talk about the YM gaussians if I as a beginner purely monitor the ES? Do I draw them the same way when I have a tape, a traverse and a channel? (Just an example).

Back to my question... :) Are LostTraders instructions correct or wrong?

  10. Nicely done.

When romanus posted his 'spooky and coincidence' chart yesterday, I thought sure he had put it together.

Told you it was simple. :D
