You can not selectively choose a sub-set of data to prove your perspective while ignoring all the rest of the data. If you are only going to look at Italy data then you might as narrow down a single data point (person) while you are selectively trimming the data set.

Ok, lets step back a second and review how this discussion began. Stay with me here.

    Jem posted the original article.

Here4money posted "Breitbart lol" effectively dismissing the entire article and source data because it came from Breitbard (he later said "it was stuff we all knew anyway).

    My reply to Here4money:

Talking about ignoring the data because it came from Breitbart being stupid. It is stupid.

You then say this to me:

I never said anything about not counting any death as COVID simply because a person had diabetes. Not in this thread, nor any other than I can recall. I don't even know what you're on about with this response.

But this was my exact response:

That's it. All I said was in Italy, where the average age of the deceased was 80 years old, I don't think you can say they would live another 30 years. I'm talking Italy. Italy only. That was the source of the data in the OP, it was the thread's discussion topic. Italy. Only.

    You then ask me:

I don't believe I ever answered this, as Spike's idiocy got me off track. But to answer it late, if the medical result was that Covid was the cause of death - meaning the person died from a Covid related symptoms, then it should be counted as Covid. This should be relatively easy to figure out as the symptoms from Covid are quite different than those from advanced Diabetes. But I'm not a doctor, though I would have stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night were one open around me.

Then, as best as I can gather, your conversation with me picks up when you tell Jem something about Brazil and I respond:

Which you, of course, question with another googled article on Domestic Violence (which is only one part of the equation, as loss of economic livelihood, increased opioid use, suicides, postponing much needed medical care like chemo, etc also have to be considered)...

Then we get to your delayed response to me on the diabetes 30 year comment (I guess you had to find the right article) and post this:

I think where you get all crazy is when I respond to Jem's comment on your article with this:

And that's where you go on and on about me having to read your article (which I did) and the study.

This is a complete forensic analysis of this thread. So let me just tell you this, and you don't have to agree (you won't, I know) and I don't really care if you do or don't.

Based on the Italian Study which is the point of this thread the average age of the deaths is 80 years old, most of them with multiple pathologies. They did not have 10 years more to live. They did not have 5 more. Some might have, many probably did not. Most 80 year olds with advanced diabetes, advanced heart disease, emphysema, stage 4 or 5 cancer, in hospice, etc...don't. The Italian situation was one of the main reasons for the world going into panic, and it was based on the "OMG all of Italy is dying" commentary, which we now find is complete horseshit. The old and diseased in Italy were dying. That is it.

That's all I'm saying. Have the last word. You're going to anyway.

So, have we isolated all of the obese people in America yet, or nah?

The ones I know are isolating themselves. Having things delivered. Making sure they stay 5 to 10 feet away from neighbors while wearing a mask.

They should stay 5 to 10 feet away from a refrigerator.

  6. According to the resident leftists it is impossible to identify and protect those most at risk, but completely plausible to demand the entire population quarantine themselves until...well, until they decide when it's "safe":banghead:

well one neighbor is a great guy. drops off oranges and other fruit from his backyard. He even said early on he was high risk and was staying isolated ... but that people in shape should not be punished.

great guy...I can't make fun of him. but... yeah... he could lose 50 to 75 lbs.
