People with coronavirus are dying 10 years earlier than they would have naturally: Study

The study disproved those who are dying were already close to the end.

Yeah.... so much for let's not count anyone who had a comorbidity as a COVID-19 death since they were at "death's door" anyway.

Most would have easily survived another decade at least.

Nice try. I appreciate that you're doing your best to save face from your idiotic statements. But I don't support Trump and feverishly defend anything and everything he does. In fact, I'd challenge you to show me where I have in the last few weeks supported anything he does. \

Let's make a deal. You provide one statement of my support for Trump. I'll provide one statement of me providing one statement against. Whoever runs out first has to leave the forum, never to return. What do you say?

I mean, if you believe I'm so loyal to him this should be easy peasy, right?

Ouch Spike is going to lose this bet badly. You can hardly be called a Trump fan.

    Of course I'm not.

Spike won't take the bet, he's made an ass out of himself and he's doing anything he can to find his way out.

I'll never understand why people cannot just admit an error. What he should have said is "duh, I totally should have thought of that", when it came to the statistical analysis on co-morbidity. But for whatever reason, folks feel they have to defend an irrational idea or error to the death and spend way too much time trying to save face when it is far, far easier to just say they made a mistake. We all make mistakes, but apparently not on message forums :(

Please, for the love of God, if you ever witness me doing that (even if it isn't in a conversation with you), call me on it.

The concept of "years of life lost," or YLL, is a mathematical equation that estimates the average time a person would have lived if they had not died because of some unforeseen health event, like COVID-19 infection.
    Oh, come on.

This is ridiculous. So we are expected to believe that some math equation is applied to someone in hospice for cancer who gets Covid and they would have lived years more were it not for the Covid?

This is so silly I can't believe I'm wasting time on it. Are there patients who wouldn't have died, but are quite sick, had they not gotten Covid? Of course there are. Are there patients who did not die of Covid but were marked Covid deaths simply because they tested positive? Of course there are.

Especially when there is a financial incentive for them to be marked as such.

this is the type of crap you believe.
lets put it in context of the original post.

the average death from Covid in Italy had 3 chronic illnesses and the average age was 80.

the average life expectancy in Italy is 83.

So... would any sane person actually publish that shit?
Would any sane person post on this thread?

Agreed. So ridiculous. If the average age was 80, we're expected to believe these people are dying 10 years earlier from Covid when they are over 80 with multiple serious pathologies? Who believes this crap?

  8. I had no idea we have 160 million old and dying people in the country. That does present a problem.:banghead:

Beyond Italy, i have yet to see data stating the average age is 80. Seeing that many people live to ripe old ages in Italy then it is likely they had years cut off their lives.

Experts are stating that people with coronavirus are dying 10 years earlier than they would have naturally. i would urge you to go read the article plus the study -- and educate yourself. The study has complete data and statistics. Why don't you mathematically refute it for us.

You just seem lost in all this bs. A disease that kills off many people with any of these conditions quickly is a serious problem. In addition, there is evidence that many younger people who get this disease survive but with lingering related health issues. And some do die.

In Canada, a while back it was published that 85% of our deaths were in long term care homes. So what. Beyond the obvious that Canada was badly mismanaging it's long term care homes ( mostly privately run ), we as a nation do care about older or sickly people and the chance of them dying prematurely. You just seem selfish it's all about you. You might even be the kind of guy who spreads the virus to many older people killing a bunch of them off and I doubt you'd even make the connection.

Oh I know, you are all in a lather about the economy; get over it almost every negative in that regard is temporary or a displacement of sorts that will rectify itself within 2 years. People's lives are far more important. The stock market is clearly sending a message that the economic impact of this virus is likely transitory in nature.
