Looks like spring time in New York but just like 20 degrees below normal. http://buffalonews.com/2017/05/05/spring-snowflakes-will-soon-fly-western-new-york/ Yes, there's snow in the forecast National Weather Service forecasters predict some snow Sunday and Monday, when temperatures will be about 20 degrees below normal. The snow may even start late Saturday night.
But, you are right. I do trade ag products. So like, why in the hell would I look at things like weather that impact crop yields? I mean it is not like unusual cold weather that destroys crops/livestock will impact supply and demand. Bad WeTodd!
Increased man made co2 in the atmosphere has upset mother natures seasonal clock? We may start seeing colder summers and hotter winters and areas that were deserts may become flooded. We just don't know. There's never been anything like it in history. Or at least you'd have to go back 10,000 years to find anything close? Millions will be dying anyway from Trumpcare so climate change is on the back burner for now. How's that sound?
Or, we may experience colder winters/colder summers, hotter winters/hotter summers and perpetual droughts in California. Also, Antarctica will lose and gain ice on a net basis. Kind of like the market will go up, down or sideways.
Similar computer programs are used both for TA and weather/climate prediction. And of course TA/computer trading works. Very well if done right. Google James Simon.
Have we crossed the 200 year ma yet? I thought I saw what looked like a head and shoulders in one of those denier charts.
You should tell @marketsurfer that Rentech uses TA strategies. Better yet, go tell a climate scientist that their computer models are similar to programs used for TA. Do you know anything about trading? Have you ever heard of statistical arbitrage or HFT? Do you understand what is considered TA? Have you ever been a trader?
Yes modeling of chaotic systems is the same whether weather or not. The most brilliant modelers end up working for RT. Which is a shame. Yes I have designed and daytraded auto TA systems. Glued to my freakin laptop all day.
