    It's amazing how many like-minded people there are here. If I try to explain this to people in the Real World all I get is blank stares.

    Not only is it old, I wish I had a nickel for every prediction about the death of the consumer. People are not going to stop buying anymore than they are going to stop eating. Consumer spending will slow, it won't stop.
