Exactly. But the most civilized party should give the first step. Like dealing with your stupid dirty, immigrant neighbor. I used to have a Malaysian neighbor from hell years ago. I was a student so moving was out of the question for me at least. First we gave him welcome presents, so he wanted to please us too. Then we told him how adapted to American culture and how good his English was.. (a blatant lie) Then we told him that we kept the building hallway clean and odor-free to please each other, and how everybody in America did that. It worked. He got the point. Cheaper than having the sucker evicted or moving somewhere else. How hard is for Israel to employ similar tactics?
Imagine for one second that your Malaysian neighbor doesn't want you to exist. What exactly would you do ?
Exactly, both sides just close themselves demanding satisfaction for their own grievances and refuse to listen to the other side or give goodwill gestures.
When Hizbolah attacked Israel they thought that Israel will succumb to their demands & play by their rules. Maybe they miscalculated it. They should think better next time when making a move.
Actually I didn't want him to exist. Even if he did, I would give him reasons to like me and try to be my friend, not the other way around.
Gee, like Israel doesn't have free hand already. When was the last time Israel got international sanctions for "defending itself" as you guys like to say. During the intifada Israel doesn't need our billions in foreign aid either? Good. Let's cut it already. Fine by me, lets cut all whopping 2.5 billion dollars and watch how we lose the last shred of influence in that part of the world, how Israel saves more money by buying weapons from the chinese, french and russians. And mind you they will not pay for expensive american precision-guided missiles, we'll see how palestinians and the lebanese are going to like regular non-precision russian bombs. Poor the jews it's never their fault, it's always the arabs and the anti-semites going after them. Isn't that true? Inquisition, russian pogroms, the holocaust, world-wide antisemitism, the independence war in 1948, the six-day war in 1967, the war of attrition of 1970, the yom kippur war of 1973... Pity they don't look like the victims this time around. You bet they don't, they are fighting back but you obviously liked the passive jew much better, did not you? It's always good to be a millionaire, but in western-christian culture we care for our fellow citizens. Maybe in jewish culture you guys like to be filthy rich in the middle of misery and despair? You're talking about judeo-christian values, right? Being "filthy rich in the middle of misery and despair" is an excellent description of the arab world you seem to prefer, support and respect. I've got nothing against jews Yeah, I can tell.
Bullshit, You condemn Israel only even when their actions are absolutely reasonable, you never condemn palestinians even when their actions are absolutely horrible. Another bullshit, you just said one post earlier that you were not buying it and that they were both medieval tribes. Now you turn around and want to hold one of those "tribes" to a significantly higher standard. I consider Israel to be civilized so I have the right to hold Israel to a higher standard, you're just being inconsistent and dishonest.
The intifada? I said Israel defending itself, not starting a massacre of shoeless dirty towelheads armed with rocks. That does not qualify as "defending itself" Each time Israel gets criticized for a single action they answer with a long list of grievances. That leads to nowhere. Grow up please. Like manipulative girlfriends, when they want something, they remind you when you forgot your anniversary, when you arrived late to dinner blah blah elephant memory for all occasions when you were a "bad boyfriend" so now you have to make up for all those mistakes. And for the millionth time, my point is not that I prefer arabs, but that the US should not give preference to Israel or anyone else. The US should give preference to what's best for US citizens. Period.
