Let's conveniently ignore this and many other instances.... What Is Behind Israel’s Deliberate Attacks on UN Peacekeepers in Lebanon? An Interview with Karim Makdisi October 30, 2024 by Albert Trithart https://theglobalobservatory.org/20...pers-in-lebanon-interview-with-karim-makdisi/ A UNIFIL peacekeeper recounts an attack by an Israeli tank on his position, October 10, 2024. (Still image taken from UNIFIL video) Since the start of its ground invasion of Lebanon on October 1st, Israel has repeatedly attacked the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). Israeli fire has injured several peacekeepers, destroyed UN structures and equipment, and forced some peacekeepers to withdraw. The attacks have been widely condemned, including by the countries that contribute troops to UNIFIL, which reaffirmed their support for the mission. Meanwhile, the Israeli invasion of south Lebanon and unremitting attacks across the country have taken a massive toll on Lebanese civilians, displacing more than 1.2 million, killing more than 2,000, flattening entire towns and villages, and destroying parts of Beirut.
Just a reminder that the Hezbollah missile launching site was a mere 100 yards away from the UNIFIL compound. The U.N. Peacekeepers had one job -- just one job -- written down in a U.N. agreement -- it was to stop Hezbollah from launching missiles into Israel. Instead the UNIFIL organization stood around and did nothing while allowing their bases to be used as cover for terrorist missile launches. Hence Israel needed to take action.
Yeah, we're going to listen to Israel's version of the news, while they ban world the media and kill journalists. Righttttttt.
