What is lost on the so called invincibility of the F-35 is the fact that a jet fighter can only travel at Mach 1.8 or Mach 1.9 top speed. Hypersonic missiles can be running as fast as Mach 10.0, possibly a minimum of Mach 6.0. In terms of a Hypersonic missile being fired on an F-35, the chances are zero that the F-35 can survive. As to costs, a hypersonic missile costs $1,000,000 vs F-35 cost of $100,000,000 a piece. That is not counting Russian S-400 missile batteries able to engage and shoot down even an F-35. Israel is losing this war badly. They have no defense for the hypersonic missiles being fired by Iran let alone, other ballistic missiles of Iran. Iran reported to have stockpiles of over 2,000 missiles. US should not get involved directly, by attacking Iran. I have strongly urged President Trump not to do so. The last thing we want is those same hypersonic missiles to hit US cities. There is enough evidence to suggest that the US cannot stop those hypersonic missiles. Go to the negotiating table now!

Netanyahu reiterated that Israel has command over the skies in Iran. He additionally stated, "We are on the way to achieving our two goals: elimination of the nuclear threat and elimination of the missile threat".

In regards to control of the skies, this was more of a matter of taking out Iran's anti-aircraft defenses (which were provided by Russia) rather than taking out their minimal air force. The antiaircraft missiles were a significant threat. Israel degraded these antiaircraft defenses in previous recent conflicts and then totally took them out at the beginning of this war. Leading to a situation where Israel owns the skies.

Israel is using this dominance to target nuclear sites and to eliminate Iran's surface-to-surface missiles. Yesterday it appears that Israel successfully used a bunker buster on the Natanz nuclear site -- which registered as a small earthquake on Richter meters.

In regards to Iran's surface-to-surface missiles, it appears that Israel is eliminating them by bombing the locations that manufacture them while also taking out launch sites. The reality is that most of the available missiles are being taken out by having Iran launch them where 90% of them are eliminated while in the air -- however a number are getting through and hitting Israel despite their vaunted Iron Dome. However this appears to be a scenario that Israel expected -- hence their creation of large number of bomb shelters for the civilian population.

Additionally Israel is using its air dominance to selectively attack Iran's energy sites. Possibly with an eye on fomenting unrest against the Islamic regime.

  4. Somewhat ironically, Iran's usual little game has been damaged by the war in Ukraine.

The war in Ukraine helped to take Syria's leader down- and at a time when Syria had Russian bases and was Russia's biggest client state. In the end though, the most Russia could do was to offer Assad a plane ride to Moscow. Don't think for a minute that the Ayatollah does not have that on his mind in regard to how great his great mutual aid compact with Russia is- OR IS NOT. That mutual aid compact is just an empty promise, just as it was in Syria. In prior years, though, Russia was able to pound away at Assads enemies there relentlessly.

Point number two would be that Russia is and has been scouring the world for more and more precious air defense systems just to protect itself - inside Russia and inside Ukraine and especially in Crimea. If the current Iran-Israel conflict had occurred before the war in Ukraine, Russia would have stacked additional air defense systems into Iran until it was coming out their ying-yang. Instead, Israel took out most of their air defense systems after Oct 7 and they have not been restored at all to any significant degree.

Yeh, Russia be spread too thin these days as a result of its own mischief to be able to help their buddies (Assad and the Ayatollah) with their own little mischief projects.

Of course, Israel first. That the F35, even if just the Israeli variant, is proven vulnerable is a major hit for sales. They would certainly have lost way more non stealth aircraft but this is a huge boost for China.

Well, that's something you need to worry about.

Maybe the root cause of it is that your country is committed to turning Israel into Horoshima.

    Think about it.

And abandon Tehran if you want to increase your chances of surviving. It is a better deal than Iran offered the Israeli's in kibbutz on Oct 7. It;s ugly out there and now ugly is coming to your neighborhood.
