Echopulse, most of what you’re claiming comes from heavily biased sources and leaves out key facts. Iran was enriching uranium, yes, but under the JCPOA they were strictly limited to low-level enrichment far below weapons grade. That’s not in dispute. The IAEA, the international body tasked with verifying compliance, issued regular reports confirming Iran was following the deal. That continued until Trump unilaterally pulled out in 2018. Yes, there were small technical breaches like slightly exceeding heavy water limits, but Iran corrected those when flagged. As for the claim about military sites like Parchin, it’s true Iran was reluctant to open every location, but the JCPOA had a mechanism to request access. The IAEA repeatedly stated it had sufficient visibility to verify compliance. Trump scrapped the deal without having anything better to replace it. Since then, Iran enriched uranium to much higher levels, restarted advanced centrifuge operations, and moved far closer to breakout capability than before. Whatever problems the deal had, walking away from it made the situation more dangerous, not less. If we want to talk about Iran seriously, let’s start with what the IAEA actually found, not talking points from pressure groups that wanted the deal to fail from the start.
Israel is hard at work at that- somewhat indirectly- right as we speak. At a minimum they want to take Iran down enough to expose their weaknesses on the world stage, which is like blood in the water for any internal opposition to make mischief. This is actually the second time Iran has been taken to that point. It is obvious and largely agreed upon that Israel gave Iran a retaliatory strike (right after Oct 7)and then let it go the last time they exchanged missile strikes. But everyone knows and agrees that Israel left Iran naked and without air defense and could have done anything to them they wanted. Exactly, exactly where they are again today. The next couple days will show whether Israel wants to do that again....ie, give them a harsh lesson but cap it as they did last time, or whether, to the contrary they want to really humiliate them badly to make them look like total buffoons at home and on the world stage. Truthfully, they don't have the air defenses to resist anything or won't by next week. Any Russia is in no position to help and China does not want to rock the boat while they are trying to get a better tariff deal. But Israel is flirting with punishing them badly enough to put regime change in the air in Iran. We should stay out of it, or at least I don't have a need to know, how the CIA is involved if efforts are made. wink. wink.
