Don't be so naive, there has never been peace in the middle east and there probably never will be. The US and Israel is just your escape goat. If we are going to spend ludicrous amounts of money on military spending, I can't think of a better place to spend. The probable site of WWIII.

Also, congratulations to Brazil you are now lumped in with the likes of China, Lebanon, and Turkey.

SouthAmerica: If you noticed among the 4 countries – 2 countries, Brazil and China – are becoming very fast the emerging leading countries of the new century.

The split at the U.N. Security Council when four countries may refuse to support an expected U.N. resolution imposing new sanctions against Iran that just reflects the global power shift that is underway.

    *****

Mnphats: You lost most credibility in saying Iran is not a terrorist nation.

    ******

SouthAmerica: Where did I lose credibility? In Israel?

To show to the world that Iran is not a terrorist nation as you are trying to suggest Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad visited in late 2009 not only Brazil, but various countries in South America. And in May 2010 president Lula will travel to Iran to further the business relationship between Brazil and Iran.

Mnphats: Israel is subservient to the US not the other way around.

    *****

    SouthAmerica: I repeat again.

The records show that the United States government has been subservient to Israel and the Jewish lobby for many decades – and this association has been forged at the expense of a very high cost for the self-interest of the US government around the world.

I posted the following about 3 years ago on ET forum on thread “Middle East Meltdown and US Foreign Policy”

    …March 25, 2007

SouthAmerica: It is interesting The Economist magazine choice of a title for an article on their magazine about the Jewish lobby – “Leviathan”.

The Christian interpretation of “Leviathan” is often considered to be a “demon” or natural monster associated with “Satan or the Devil”.

Some biblical scholars considered “Leviathan” to represent the pre-existent forces of chaos.

    ***

Regarding the actual article The Economist said that today the Jewish lobby in the United States could count with the help of - “…The lobbyists had every reason to feel proud of their work. Congress has more Jewish members than ever before: 30 in the House and a remarkable 13 in the Senate.”

Finally many Americans started realizing the detrimental influence that the Jewish lobby has in helping shape the US foreign policy that goes completely against the self-interest of the United States.

For many years US foreign policy has been so Pathetic that it is laughable – how a superpower can be so dumb and so often…

In my opinion, the only outstanding job the United States has done regarding US foreign policy in the last 40 years – has been the help that the United States has been giving to Haiti since the massive earthquake

SouthAmerica: President Clinton made a major effort to bring peace to the Middle East between Israel and the Palestinians.

He came very close to achieve his goal of peace. I don’t know why former president Bill Clinton could not figure out that as long the US gravy train is going to Israel on an annual basis then Israel has the incentive to keep the massive mess in the Middle East going as long as they can get away with.

Why make peace and run the risk of losing the annual US gravy train – that would be a major blow to the Israeli economy – mainly if you take in consideration the cumulative economic effects generated by the US gravy train over a decade or longer.

If the United States is serious about wanting peace in the Middle East then the first step the United States has to take is cut to the bone the annual gravy train that goes to Israel.

    Definition: gravy train (an expression)
    n. Slang

    1) An occupation or other source of income that requires little effort while yielding considerable profit.

    2) Income obtained with a minimum of effort

    3) Easy money.

SA - I think you are getting a little carried away.

Brazil is much more likely to collapse than the U.S. or Europe.

Do you really think the U.S. needs Brazil's good will or support.

Instead of doing something about Iran - he is sending Hillary to Brazil on a mission without meaning.

You know its bullshit - I know its bullshit... all it does in reflect poorly on Obama. Hillary should have said no.

Now I say it is bullshit because Brazil has no way to influence the situation.

Maximum gain for Obama would be for Lulu to send you an email and have you write an article for Brazil magazine saying Iran is led by a nut and should not be allowed to have Nukes.

SouthAmerica: Believe it or not, but Brazil could close its borders and Brazil would be able to survive with no problem. Brazil is self-sufficient and we have in Brazil anything a country needs for long-term survival.

I don’t believe the same is true for the United States or for Europe.

Jem: Do you really think the U.S. needs Brazil's good will or support?

SouthAmerica: If the US did not need Brazil's good will or support then the Obama administration would not be sending Hillary Clinton to Brazil at this time - Unless she does not have anything better to do.

SouthAmerica: Yes, she looks foolish since Brazilian government is not going to change its mind regarding Brazil’s vote at the UN about Iran.

Poor Hillary already has a tough job with the wars that the US is fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, plus all the other headaches that she has regarding her job. She did not need this humiliation of going to Brazil and other South American countries and coming back empty handed.

Hillary could make her job a little easier for her by taking Bill Clinton with her on this vacation – the people in Brazil and in South America love Bill Clinton - he still is considered a superstar.

SouthAmerica: If the Brazilian vote is not important then her trip is a real waste of time. No wonder US foreign policy has been a complete mess. (With the exception of the US actions in relation to Haiti)

SouthAmerica: That would never happen since I believe that Iran has the right to develop nuclear weapons to defend their country.

Besides Brazil is armed with nuclear weapons even though the Brazilian constitution it does not allow the Brazilian government to make it public. (about 3 months ago former Brazilian president Fernando Henrique Cardoso wrote an article published on Brazzil magazine in which he criticized the Brazilian army because they developed nuclear weapons in Brazil.)

Since Brazil is armed with nuclear weapons, Brazil understands why Iran also wants to develop a nuclear arsenal for them to be able to defend their people and their natural resources.

Today even very poor and starving North Korea is armed with nuclear weapons.

  6. Brazil is uniquely self sufficient. Low cost of living, lower unemployment than the U.S., less entitlements, less debt and an abundance of natural resources.

What's funny is the criticism being levied at South America (the ET screen name not the continent) because he lives in the States rather than Brazil. One comment after another along the lines of "well if Brazil is so great then why are you here."

I could say the same to you Jews. If Israel is so great, so holy, so worth American taxpayers supporting it and so worth American soldiers being in harms way to defend, then why don't you Zionists live there? I'm waiting for the day that I meet an American Jew whose allegiance isn't to Israel first and America second.

While Brazil is a nation of mixed race, Jews have perfected the art of racial purity. Kind of ironic that Jews had the nerve to complain about Hitler seeking a "master race."

  7. Brazil is uniquely self sufficient.
Right... except for electronics, computers, processors, cell phones, networking equipment, cars (in sufficient numbers), transportation equipment, military equipment, modern drugs, modern medical equipment and a brazilion other things.

    Low cost of living,
coupled with incredibly low standard of living, rampant crime, corruption, poverty...

I could say the same to you Jews. If Israel is so great, so holy, so worth American taxpayers supporting it and so worth American soldiers being in harms way to defend, then why don't you Zionists live there?
No american jew, no american zionist claims that life in Israel is better than in the US, on the other hand there are a couple of brazilian idiots living in the US who claim that Brazil is better than the US.

Jews have perfected the art of racial purity.
If you completely disregard a staggering number of mixed marriages involving jews and the fact that there are lots of african jews in Israel.

Kind of ironic that Jews had the nerve to complain about Hitler seeking a "master race."
Of course unlike Hitler the jews are not trying to eliminate/enslave other races.

Oh boy, another antisemitic idiot to replace Tresor. I swear they reproduce like rabbits.

SouthAmerica: When I moved to the United States a few decades ago the US was a much different and better country that we have today.

Today we just have the carcass of what is left of the old United States. The country that I admired and thought it was a great country – it does not exist anymore – gone forever.

I have been writing about the decline of the US economy for more than a decade now, and some people wonder why I still aboard the Titanic when I know that this ship has hit the iceberg head on and this ship is sinking….

Today I was reading an article by Niil Ferguson on Foreign Policy magazine – he mentioned something that I have been mentioning on my articles for the last 8 years – countries don’t collapse in slow motion any more – today they collapse almost overnight as it was the case of the Soviet Union. Today a country collapses at the speed of light and the United States economy is not immune to such an overnight collapse.

After 158 years in business and surviving the US Civil War, World War I, a Great Depression, World War II, Korea War, Vietnam War and so on…Lehman Brothers stock was worth $ 78 per share in June 15, 2007 and the same stock was trading at $ .22 cents per share in September 15, 2008 the day of this company’s demise. This company sank like the Titanic in a very short period of time.

The same can happen to the US dollar and the US economy at any time.

    SouthAmerica: Reply to Jem

Hillary Clinton arrived in Brasilia on Tuesday evening and tomorrow she will meet President Lula.

It seems it will be a one-way conversation since she has a long list of begging items to cover with Lula, based on this visit the perception that people will have is that Brazil is the superpower and the US is the emerging country.

    Items on Hillary’s begging list:

    1) She will try to ask Brazil’s support in regard to UN sanctions against Iran. (Brazil is supposed to vote against the sanctions)

    2) She will ask Lula for the Brazilian government to buy 36 fighter jets from Boeing instead of buying from France the fighter jets from Dassault. (I believe that deal already has been made between the French government and the Brazilian government)

    3) She also will ask president Lula for help regarding Venezuela, Bolivia, and Cuba. (Brazil has good relations with these countries)

    4) Brazil got the right from the WTO to retaliate against the United States to the tune of about $ 1 billion dollars – because of unfair US trade practices and farm subsidies to American farmers.

Since the Brazilian government is announcing next Monday the list of US products that Brazil will have the right to retaliate against – Hillary might have some special requests to Lula on behalf of her government.

Note: I am surprised that she does not have on her list a request for money to help the United States with the Wall Street banking bailout. (Maybe that will be part of a private conversation)

This humiliating trip to Brazil must be a real blow to Mrs. Clinton's ego, since she thought that she was supposed to represent the superpower.

And she did not take Bill Clinton with her on this trip – that could have helped to take some of the attention away from her fiasco.

The international headlines are very clear about who are the real criminals on this case.

    Dubai: “Israeli premier faces arrest”
    Aljazeera.net
    March 3, 2010

The head of the Dubai police is planning to seek the arrest of the prime minister of Israel and the head of the country's secret service, Mossad, over the killing of a Hamas leader.

Dhahi Khalfan Tamim told Al Jazeera he would ask the Dubai prosecutor to issue arrest warrants for Binyamin Netanyahu and Meir Dagan this week.

…Dubai police have published details of 26 suspects together with passport photographs, and claim to have DNA evidence of the identity of at least one of the killers.

As a consequence of the assassination, UAE officials say they will prevent Israeli citizens travelling on foreign passports from entering the country.

Dubai police last Sunday issued a statement saying the "killers used the drug succinylcholine to sedate al-Mabhouh before they suffocated him" and that "assassins used this method so that it would seem that his death was natural".

Al-Mabhouh's killing has led investigators to Britain, Ireland, Australia and Germany - countries whose passports the assassins allegedly used.
