. February 28, 2010 SouthAmerica: Reply to Tom B If Brazil is a banana republic as you said on your posting, then why the US government is sending its Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Brazil to beg the Brazilian government for support at the UN for sanctions against Iran? A superpower does not go begging around for support of banana republics â unless that superpower is no longer a superpowerâ¦. Brazil should take this opportunity to make a deal with the United States: in exchange for support for sanctions against Iran the United States agrees to stop the gravy train that is going Israelâs way since the 1960âs â a gravy train that supports Israeli sponsored hit squads that goes around the world killing people â a real lose cannon. It does not look good for the United States to be the major financial supporter of a country that sends hit squads to other countries to kill people. It is like supporting a terrorist state. .
I love the way people are always so proud when we pay them a diplomatic visit... yet they have to spin it in some negative fashion? Why the manifest dysfunction? Why not just be proud you were allowed a seat at the table and be manly about it?
I don't think beg or begging is the right words to use in this context. Further, is looking for support against a terrorist nation harboring nukes and freely kills its opposition for protesting begging? Interesting you are looking to make a deal though.
well, fortunately unlike you and your fringe insane ilk, most people in Brazil are not idiots and could not care less about Hamas terrorists Israel eliminates...as it should. You don't speak for Brazil or Brazilians, hope you know that, right? You speak for the international anti-semitic anti-western, anti-american anti-Israel pro-Islamist, uber-leftist socialist/communist fringe. And no one in the world, no one on this forum gives a shit about your insane, pro-Hamas Marxist views. Mossad assassinated yet another one of your arms-smuggling, civilian-murdering IslamoNazi buddies. I realize you are mourning the loss of a loved one. LOL, cry me a river.
. March 1, 2010 SouthAmerica: Thanks to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's rhetoric the "Gravy Train" keeps coming to Israel on a regular basis. This military confrontation between US/Israel/ and Iran is just a game that they have been playing for many years. I just hope someone does not get stupid and start believing on that rhetoric. It is a game that works very well for Israel and for Iran as I have been mentioning on this forum for many years. It was never so easy for Iran to make a few extra billion dollars in oil revenue; and now according to the latest information from the US intelligence agencies - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's rhetoric about the status of Iranâs nuclear program plus his tough rhetoric about Israel it has turned out to be the biggest con-job of the new millennium. Iran, Venezuela and many other oil producing countries are laughing all the way to the bank to the tune of hundreds of billions of US dollars â what a transfer of wealth from the United States and other countries to the oil producing countries around the world â with the compliments of Iran and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his rhetoric; no wonder Mahmoud Ahmadinejad always had a smile on his face â he knew he was taking the United States to the cleaners and all he had to do was push the right bottoms regarding Israel. From Israelâs perspective Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's rhetoric about the status of Iranâs nuclear program plus his tough rhetoric about Israel it is what Israel needs to keep the US gravy train coming to Israel on a regular basis. This arrangement it has been a very profitable game so far for both parties, and it has been working every time for Iran and also for Israel. .
. Mnphats: I don't think beg or begging is the right words to use in this context. Further, is looking for support against a terrorist nation harboring nukes and freely kills its opposition for protesting begging? ***** March 1, 2010 SouthAmerica: Reply to Mnphats First, Iran is not a terrorist nation harboring nukes and freely kills its opposition for protesting begging as you mentioned on your posting. Iran more than any other nation has the right to develop its nuclear weapons capabilities since the United States (a nation armed with nuclear weapons more than anybody else) has been interfering in a big way on Iranâs internal affairs since 1953 when the CIA helped overthrow the democratic secular government that Iran had at the time and the US installed a nasty dictator in Iran â a puppet of the US government. Now the United States has been trying very hard to destabilize the Iran government once again and they are asking nations such as Brazil to help the US accomplish its dirty business. Most Americans donât have a clue that the US government has been tormenting the Iranian people and trying to destabilize their government for over 57 years. President Lula and the Brazilian people are smart enough to not let the United States and Israel drag Brazil to be part of this dirty business. The founding fathers of the United States would find disgusting this American interference into the internal affairs of Iran and completely against the self-interest of the United States in the eyes of the world and for the long run. Regarding the demonstrations inside Iran I am aware that the major influence behind such demonstrations are organized by money from the United States, Britain and Israel and the cameras are ready to role when this staged events happen. I am not naïve anymore and I donât buy the staged bullshit that it is just pure propaganda to back up some governmentsâ agenda. Over the years we all have watched the same bullshit over and over again. I am surprised that still people up there who still pay attention and believe in any of all this propaganda. During Iranâs President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad visit to Brazil in 2009 the Jewish lobby was working overtime to prevent his visit to Brazil. A few days before Mahmoud Ahmadinejad visit to Brazil the Prime Minister of Israel shows up in Brazil to beg the Brazilian government to cancel President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad visit to Brazil. The Jewish lobby tried to organize and stage some demonstrations in Brazil against the trip of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Brazil, but at the end of the day a hand full of people showed up to these events and in most of the photo ops of these events you can see only a hand full of people and the flags of Israel and of the United States in a prominent position. The records show that the United States government has been subservient to Israel and the Jewish lobby for many decades â and this association has been forged at the expense of a very high cost for the self-interest of the US government around the world. Yesterday I was talking with a friend of mine â an American â and he told me that the more he thinks about and discuss the subject with his circle of friends the more he realizes that it is a mistake for the United States to give so much support for Israel â he was telling me what do the United States has to gain from this association other than a lot of troubles and a lot of wasted money â and his friends are also arriving to the same conclusion. All these people started realizing the detrimental influence that the Jewish lobby has in helping shaping US foreign policy that goes against the self-interest of the United States. .
. Mnphats: Interesting you are looking to make a deal though. ***** July 30, 2007 SouthAmerica: The continuous support (financial and in military armament) of the United States to Israel it is at the root of the problem in the Middle East. This American support will guarantee that the conflict in the Middle East will continue forever, as long the US gravy train is an important part of the Israeli economy. Israel has the financial incentive to keep that area of the world into a mess and if possible Israel would like to expand the conflict even further â to include also Iran. Israel has a major economic incentive to keep the Middle East unstable and in a constant state of war. The $ 30 billion dollars in military aid the US just gave to Israel â for a country smaller than New Jersey â and about $ 8 billion dollars of this aid it is in cash For a country with a GDP of around $ 140 billion dollars â why make peace in the area and risk losing the free ride. Israel government annual budget is around $50 billion dollars including defense spending of around $ 10.5 billion dollars. You donât have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that a large part of the defense spending from the Israeli government annual budget goes to pay salary for the soldiers, pensions, health care, maintenance of arsenal including the nuclear arms and so onâ¦. After all these normal expenses related to defense spending there is not much money left to increase the Israeli destruction capabilities. That is where the US military aid comes handy â and most of the bombs, guided missiles, and god knows what else that have been killing thousands of people in the Gaza strip, in Lebanon and so on â the carnage and death toll in that area comes with the compliments of the United States government â and all these deadly weapons have the label âMade in USAâ. Israel have been receiving military aid from the United States since 1973 â adjusted for inflation and in terms of current dollars probably the United States have invested over $200 billion dollars in military aid to Israel during the period 1973 â 2007. The American investments in military aid to Israel during all these years are paying great dividends just look around in that area of the world â Lebanon, Gaza Strip, Iraq and so on⦠And we usually use âEnronâ as an example of what looks like a bad investment. What would have happened if instead of giving all this military aid to Israel during all these years if the money had been invested instead in education, and a Marshall plan to help lift all boats in that area of the world? I donât blame the Israelis from wanting to keep the Middle East unstable and on a state of constant war for them to be able to keep the US gravy train coming. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1549499&highlight=gravy+train#post1549499 .
. Jem: I love the way people are always so proud when we pay them a diplomatic visit... yet they have to spin it in some negative fashion? Why the manifest dysfunction? Why not just be proud you were allowed a seat at the table and be manly about it? ***** March 1, 2010 SouthAmerica: Hillary Clintonâs visit to Brazil is not a regular diplomatic visit â it is an exercise in begging for Brazil to go against the self-interest of Brazil. By the way, as I mentioned on my article from 5 years ago â âA new world order is indeed emerging - but its architecture is being drafted in Asia and Europe, at meetings to which Americans have not been invited.â As you can see the table has been turned and Brazil has a seat at the table for many years â the United States is the country that is looking from the outside and begging to be part of the new world order. Eventually Americans have to realize that they lost its influence over South America that they once had. It is history and it is long gone. From the South American perspective it looks Pathetic to see Hillary Clinton going to South America including Brazil begging for support on her agenda against Iran. As I said on my article 5 years ago: âSome South American countries including Brazil, instead of whining or crying over spilled milk, did something about it, as a capitalist country they started searching around the world for new partners to establish new ties to replace their lost business.â Americans are so blind and they are so consumed on their old self-importance that they canât understand that Iran is part of the solution for Brazil and itâs pursue for new markets and that is why Lula will be traveling to Iran in the near future to expand business between Brazil and Iran. I wrote the enclosed article 5 years ago, and since last year China has become the most important partner of Brazil in international trade. It does not look good for the United States to send an American Secretary of State to countries such as Brazil and other South American countries on a begging for support mission for a very shaky cause â the destabilization of the government of another country on this lost cause the American target is once again Iran. ***** Brazzil magazine - Thursday, 02 June 2005 âWhile China Rises the US Falls in Brazil and Latin Americaâ Written by Ricardo C. Amaral http://www.brazzil.com/2005-mainmenu-79/152-june-2005/9296.html â¦US Influence Declining in South America The Arab-South America Summit offered to the Arabs commercial alternatives not available before, which will reduce the European and American hegemony in the Arab world. The Arab Summit laid the foundations to further reduce the gap between the Arab world and South America, an area of the world that is becoming one of the major industrial and commercial trading blocs in the world. On January 26, 2005 The Financial Times of London had an interesting editorial - "How America became the world's dispensable nation." That Financial Times article started by saying: "In a second inaugural address tinged with evangelical zeal, George W. Bush declared: "Today, America speaks anew to the peoples of the world." The peoples of the world, however, do not seem to be listening. A new world order is indeed emerging - but its architecture is being drafted in Asia and Europe, at meetings to which Americans have not been invited. ....The US, it turns out, is a dispensable nation. Europe, China, Russia, Latin America and other regions and nations are quietly taking measures whose effect, if not sole purpose, will be to cut America down to size. Ironically, the US, having won the cold war, is adopting the strategy that led the Soviet Union to lose it." To further illustrate the United States loss of clout and influence in South America, we just have to look at the results of the latest election of the head of the OAS. One of US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's goals in her trip to Brazil in late April 2005 was to convince President Lula to change his mind and have Brazil vote for the US candidate that would head the Organization of American States (OAS) for the next 5 years. One week later, the candidate that Brazil was supporting all along, in opposition to the United States, Mr. Insulza from Chile was the winner. It was the first time in the organizations 60-year history that the candidate supported by Washington did not win. This particular election sends a clear signal to the world of how fast the United States is losing its influence in South America. At the same time that the US is losing its influence, China is quickly replacing the United States influence in the Area. China's Rising Influence In a very short period of time China is becoming the most important business partner of Brazil. China has been quickly replacing the United States' influence in Brazil - and that is also happening in other South American countries. On May 17, 2005 - The Financial Times of London had another article trying to explain why US influence was declining in South America: "Latin lessons the US faces a loss of leadership." The article said: "Why have relations turned so sour? Economics is part of the reason. During the late 1980s and 1990s Latin America embraced free market policies and moved enthusiastically into the US orbit. But when reform often failed to produce growth that began to change, with many Latin Americans blaming the US for their problems. "The failure of the Bush administration to help Argentina when it ran into a disastrous debt crisis at the end of 2001 was particularly damaging to its image in the region. "Whether or not Washington or Wall Street really bear the blame, many Latin Americans believe the US led them down the primrose path but then were simply not interested when times got tough," says Julia Sweig, a Latin America specialist at the New York-based Council on Foreign Relations. "After a number of South American countries embraced democracy, and many of the economic policies prescribed by Washington including all kinds of privatizations, the result of these changes did not benefit the South American population as expected. "And South America's less than impressive economic performance over the past 15 years has led to a fresh bout of soul-searching about what kind of economic model is right for the region. "... In particular, the role of the state - which policymakers were trying to cut back for most of the 1990s - is undergoing a rethink, in part reflecting South America's growing economic relationship with parts of Asia that have achieved much higher rates of growth." There is another factor that contributed to the current state of affairs in South America. After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the United States lost its interest regarding South America. Some South American countries including Brazil, instead of whining or crying over spilled milk, did something about it, as a capitalist country they started searching around the world for new partners to establish new ties to replace their lost business. The US decline of influence with Brazil did not happen overnight or because of political reasons; it was as a result of economic reasons as Brazil found new partners. The Brazilian need to find new markets for its products coincided with the economic explosion that has been happening in the Chinese economy in the last few years. Today, China has an insatiable need for commodities of all kinds to feed its amazing production machine. .
. Aperson: You don't speak for Brazil or Brazilians, hope you know that, right? ***** March 1, 2010 SouthAmerica: Reply to Aperson The Brazilians are smart enough to figure out the self-interest of Brazil, and they donât need my opinion to reinforce Brazilâs position regarding Iran. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's official visit to Brazil at the end of 2009, and president Lulaâs official visit to Iran in May 2010 speak for itself â where Brazil and the Brazilian people stand on the issues regarding Iran. .
You lost most credibility in saying Iran is not a terrorist nation. Don't get me wrong the US has made some egregious mistakes in the middle east. Israel is subservient to the US not the other way around.
