You are correct. One of the limited choices is the 400 PCI. Though the Optiplex has a PCIEx16, likely won't run the 440, however.
I may be here in body, but my spirit soars elsewhere... I heard they had "10,000 security troops" for the inauguration... think they'll need that many for every public appearance? Wonder what THAT costs...
These prices for the T3400 make me envious. Dell Germany prices for the T3400 start at about 800â¬, including tax and shipping, after rebate. Add a little this and that and you are paying up to 1000â¬.
Have any access to 1970's BMWs in junkyards? I'll trade you a transmission for a t3400... Sent you a PM with a few (serious) ideas.
I purchased the Dell Precision Workstation T3400 Core Duo Kentsfield,Q6600,375W from Dell outlet for small Business. OMG this machine is like a horse...supper fast! I am loving it.So far so good. I paid 718.00 for it. Free shipping. Thanks

Picked up a dual core this weekend and it arrived earlier today. Dell Optiplex 980 (small form factor) Intel Core 2 Duo 3 ghz 2 Gig RAM 160 gig hard drive Windows XP "downgrade" $389 + tax = $421 from Dell Outlet It was supposedly a scratch and dent but it looked new. Figured I could mail it back if I wasn't satisfied (shipping to me was free). Even though it is small form factor, it has enough space for upgrades I will want to do (e.g will bump up the RAM and install a video card when I get around to it). For now, it's driving two 22" Dell LCDs (the second one plugged in via a USB-VGA display adaptor). Couldn't be happier with the speed so far and feels like I got a good deal...
