"till the tide turns"? You mean like when they stop spending all the money you sent them on smoking, drinking, and prostitutes? Don't worry, mom will always be sure they have plenty of food, but as a father, I want to know that at least they are spending it on gambling.
IMO, the fiscal cliff is a good thing. It might sting temporarily, but its much needed to get us out of the mess we've dug ourselves into. By the way, am I the only calling a deep recession or even a depression for early to mid next year?
Mr. Bernanke would not agree with you, Carter. But he might go so far as to agree that going over the fiscal cliff would tend to flush out some current fiscal excesses, and in a way get us out of "the mess we're in" by substituting a much worse mess.:eek:
The problem is the US and Japan, not Greece, not Spain, not the EU. The markets will fall until the US fiscal cliff problem gets solved...
