Isn't it time Trayvon's parents accept responsibility?

Actually, your inflexibility says a lot about you. As a parent I find it disturbing. Your methods are NOT universally accepted, not even close. You claim you are a "decent" parent, but that word in itself is loaded and not in the right way. No surprise given the whole premise of this thread is to attack other parents of whom you know very little about.

Let's see how "decent" you are. I won't pretend to know you ahead of time as you do of others. Please answer the following,
it will give us a better idea what kind of parent you really are :

    1. If one of your kids comes out of the closet and announces
that they are Gay, will you accept and embrace their choice ?

    2. If one of your kids marries a person of another race or religon,
will you be unconditionally accepting of their choice ?

    3. At what age would your kids be expected to vacate your
    house ?

    4. If one of your kids suddenly dropped out of college,
how would you react to that event ?

    5. If one of your children's close friends was charged with a
minor criminal offence ( eg shoplifting, assaulting another
student, public drunkenness ), what ramifications would
there be for their access to said person ?

I could list dozens more questions, as parenting is never a simple situation. But those questions alone give us a better idea where you are coming from.

ps Many people who consider themselves to be "decent" people
are actually some of the most indecent people in the world.
I don't prejudge you. I focus on what you have stated are
your beliefs only. You have every right to believe you are
doing the right thing, but parenting is unique to every
situation and a million shades of right or wrong. Once you
start preaching your methods as gospel we have a problem.

You have no idea how little I care about the speculations of a blatantly racist poster on a trading site. In all likelihood your parents brought you up in a socially insensitive environment. I can't be sure, because some kids just end up being sociopaths or worse regardless of how they are brought up.

I'm not going to play 20 questions with someone who has attacked my parenting methods - which are similar to those of all the respectable parents in neighborhoods across America. It is obvious from your criticisms you are not a responsible parent.

Let's me ask you --- since you claim to be a parent.

    A) Do your kids get straight A's in school and college? Did they graduate at the top of their class?

    B) Did they get full ride college scholarships to well-respected universities?

    C) Are they well respected in the community by their peers, parents, teachers, and others?

    D) Do they have productive careers?

    E) Have they never been in trouble with the law? Never taken drugs?

    F) Do you even have a clue what your children do?

You start just threads about supposed racists on a trading web site.

What I see is you started a thread out of your own free will attacking other parents and preaching your own overbearing methods as gospel. Then you say you won't play 20 questions but you then ask me questions. That would make you one of the biggest hypocrites you could ever find on here.

Hate to disappoint you but my kids would tend to be recognized as highly successful in all their endeavours so far. Since this is not a contest that's all you get on that. The questions I asked you are more relevant, because they help us understand your value system and how easily you allow your kids to become who they want to become. Sorry to break it to you, but you sound like a nightmare control freak on the surface. Answer my questions and maybe that image will disappear.

That's because, yes, I do believe in highlighting open racism wherever it exists. And if you are uncomfortable with it all the better.

    To the administrators :

Recent activity on your site has included significant slanderous activity involving my posts.
For example, quoting out of context, and embelleshing what has been said to distort my message.
As of today, several posters have attacked me personally including death threats and overall
    libelous content.

This will be stopping today. What I am requesting immediately is the deletion of every single
post in my history, and the removal of my account from this site. If you do not do this, I will
be consulting a lawyer with respect to sueing your site for character defamation.

Removal of my posting history is necessary to prevent the ongoing slander approach being used
by several posters on this site.

Please take this request seriously, recent legislation in our country has shown that this kind
of online character assassination is illegal and actionable by law.

The questions you asked are simply designed to reinforce your political belief system - they have very little to do with parenting. Your intent is clearly to take the answers and mock me & others with the intent of declaring that I am racist, homophobic, etc. - which is simply not true.

More appropriate questions would be along the lines of:

    1) If you found your child tweeting that they beat down the bus driver what would you do?

    2) If you found text messages with pictures of your child smoking weed what would you do?

    3) If you found your child was on facebook corresponding with someone who was an obvious gang member and clearly a bad influence - what would you do? At minimum, a de-friending is in order.

    4) If you found on your cell phone bill that you child is regularly calling the local drug dealer - what would you do?

It is important to recognize that you are a child's parent, not their friend. You need to set standards, expectations, and responsibilities. You need to provide guidance so your children have friends who are good influences, strive for academic success, and have hobbies (sports, music, etc.) that keep them out of trouble during the tough teenage years.

Every child rearing expert in the modern era states that you need to be regularly involved and engaged in your child's daily life, and that you need to be totally on top of what they are doing via the internet & cell phone. This is not being a 'nightmare control freak' - it is just meeting the minimum criteria for responsible parenting.
