Keep 'em out, but allow atrocities like Rotherham. Really brilliant and enlightened folk, you Brits. Glad my ancestors had sense enough to leave there long ago.
Millions? Based on what? There are enough trading ingoramuses around here. Now we're seeing the same sort of "make it up as you go along" tripe applied to history.
I live in an objective reality where individuals protect their own interests. That's called authenticity. Of course I am for equality, blah, blah, fucking blah but every god damned person out there will put their own interests first when tested ultimately so let's cut the bullshit. Capitalism was created to protect individuals so let the individuals protect themselves. Scare tactics and this kumbaya bullshit is hypocrisy at it's finest. Alright, then?
Where do you live that you've never had a child abuse scandal? Clearly no-where that there is a Catholic church presence...wait a minute, you're Muslim aren't you!
Then the answer is no, you don't live in London and I'm going to go further and guess you've never spend more than a day there. And yet you know better than the people who do live there 'cause you're "authentic", and they're the ones living in a "spoon fed reality". Wow! I know the education system is hurting in this country, but you demonstrate a new low!
Just to get you started, 2-4 million in the French Wars of Religion (necrometrics.com/pre1700a.htm), one to three million in the crusades (Robertson, John M., "A Short History of Christianity" (1902) p.278), 100,000 killed in the witch trials during the middle ages (necrometrics.com/pre1700a.htm#Witch)...we could go on and on and on. Study history much yourself, or just make a lot of ignorant statements on things about which you yourself are ignorant? Point being, no religious group has a monopoly on violence. You either ban them all or have this whole freedom of religion thing that most enlightened western societies have moved to. Obviously the original posters are against that, you?
Huh? It may not be obvious from my previous post (really?), but I actually live in London. This would suggest that whatever reality I am experiencing, it's just a tiny wee bit more authentic than the impressions you get from your news sources.
A poster asked a specific question, calling into question the reality (see how that word is supposed to be used) that millions had been killed in the name of Christianity and asking what that number was based on. I provided some starting details. If any of those are false, happy to have a conversation, although your version of reality being what it is I think that sadly it won't be a very productive conversation.
