IS Virgin the only company developing supersonic travel?

I though there is another company Aerion in Nevada that is also doing supersonic speed? No? I know their place looks like a small business jet so might be in a different league.

 

Virgin isn't travel, it's 300K for 10mins in space and some brief weightlessness, total waste of money to me, bet there sales aren't whats expected.

Few people working on it, 1 business jet that'll be flying soon, but passenger wise 20+ years away.

Musk, wants to use Starship to transport London to Newyork in 45mins or something stupid, but way to expensive and risky for my likings.

 

10+ years to send 3 o 4 people into the very edge of outter space, not into orbit, zero practical applications, can't go higher, can't orbit the planet, can't likely even make it from the UK to the USA, can't launch satellites, it's a waste of time and fuel and money.

It's just so the moderately rich can say they've been into space vaguely, the rich rich go with SpaceX soon and go around the moon on a multiple day trip or to the ISS where there going to start adding Hotel modules for normal people to visit.

 

Branson is just using all his money to try to make it happen only because he got snubbed by BA when he wanted to buy some of their Concordes. Like a kid in a sandbox that is all pouty he didn't get what he wanted. He's a loon to think he can do supersonic flight cheeper than BA/Air France per passenger.

He should put all his money into making Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor™ a reality. Then he can have all the supersonic and hyper-atmospheric flights he wants, at much less cost.

 

Supersonic passenger planes are a boondoggle - they don't solve any real problem, and are far less economical to build and operate than a regular old jet.

 

In a world of green and climate change, the main ecologists will definitely fly this if they can afford it, massively say this, do the other, Greta definitely would LOL
