Guess you've never spoken to any Black Americans - their label, not mine. I have.

TWITTER??!! A company with a logo of a bird?? LOL And with a service that only allows people to spew out crappy one-liners?? Where is the prestige in owning that kind of company? LOL To me, owning this company is far far beneath him and stands in no comparison to other far more worthwhile companies that he owns like SpaceX and etc. And even if he wants to own social media companies, there are far better choices out there. Twitter is not a trophy, more like a broken toy. LOL Twitter has been losing money every single year. All of its shareholders couldn't wait to get rid of their shares and only pretended to play hard to get to fetch a higher price. If Elon Musk has really walked away, the shareholders would've killed the board and chased after Musk themselves. Can't believe Elon Musk bought that. I guess EQ is not really his forte. LOL

Yeah and some Blacks are not even from Africa and yet they have to be referred to as "African American". LOL

The question (bet made between the two racists, politely referred to as, old codgers) asked in "Trading Places", are people the result of genetics or environment. I'm thinking there are a few here that can't help themselves for their genes.

do you know how many ideas, thoughts, and witticisms are shared through twitter? It’s the go to to see popular opinion of the masses as well as what is in the mind of celebrities and politicians.

it may not be profitable, but it is the platform for open discourse in the world.*

    * open meaning that not just for your friends and the people who subscribe to you.

Think about how many tweets are shared vs Facebook posts, Reddit posts, quota posts, instagram posts, TikTok videos, and actual news/blog articles.

You mean like #Metoo? The biggest extortion scheme ever that destroyed countless careers and homes and put innocent people on invisible trial for the rest of their lives where they can't even face the accused?

*Open meaning if you say something that a corporation doesn't like, you get banned and your tweets get deleted? And I am not talking about Trump or those extremist groups (although the extremist groups do deserve to get banned most of the times).

Fodder for the dumb and the superficial. Quantity <> Quality. Seriously, if I am looking for meaningful thoughts, I don't go onto Twitter. Twitter is for entertainment.

I really hope Musk can manage it better once he takes it over so it can truly become a tool for free speech for all, and not serve as a mouthpiece for corporations and politicians with hidden agenda.

Everything you said contradicts your original point. Twitter is a powerful platform for communication. It’s more powerful than Facebook.

Yup free speech except corporations and politicians with hidden agendas and teenage geeks tracking private jets and former employees saying things about EV's, etc.

But calling a Cave Rescuer half way around the world "pedo guy" and pump and dumping stocks is A Ok.

    We need more of that.

  10. So, basically useful as a research and surveillance tool, but not beneficial in any way to most people who actually use it. Small pieces of text only serve to limit your expression, and make smart people sound like morons as they engage in meaningless cathartic one-upping, things that deserve the therapy room, rather than a social media space.

I won't be surprised if tweets are more compared to other social media posts, for the same reason that there are more anchovies than sharks.

Now, Musk's ostensible commitment to 'free speech' is meaningless since he is not committed to privacy and anonymity, and because there can't be true free speech without anonymity.
